  1. Understandable but the Spanish teams aren't totally representative. Stick with the Premier league. Higher tempo, less ****ing. However, I am a soccer purist and I ****ing love watching Barca play. Madrid and Mourinho can go suck a ****. Also, the world cup isn't even the best brand of soccer. It is a level below club.
  2. if there is some way we can get kevin love then I would be ecstatic. He is the type of player we are missing. We need a force in the paint and Mcgee is not that and I doubt he will ever be that even if is does become a good center because he doesn't have much of an offensive arsenal. Im still angry about passing over d. blair.
  3. Jesus, I love the wizards but the nba is a ****ization of basketball. They created bull**** rules to market the league better like illegal defense, complete bs, and defensive 3seconds. It is specifically designed so they can market individuals. I love college bball because of the emotion and Passion and actual team basketball. Yea the quality is not the same of previous eras, but the Passion is why I love sports.
  4. No way John Wall is gonna be just an average player. He's already above average right now. Yea hes making mistakes but hes rookie with only 30 games under him. You have to have wait out the growing pains. Another thing is that John Wall at this moment in time is all raw talent. His game is not polished at all and I'm sure Sam Cassell is working with him and thats a great role model for any point guard. Because of his speed he will always be a force in the nba. At the very worst I see him being a turnover prone great point guard. He just has too much athleticism to contend with. When is the last time you have seen a point guard run the length of the court and successfully block someone like Igoudala. He has the perfect physical gifts for the position. A jump shot can be worked on but his intangibles are untouchable.
  5. I agree with this 100%. I used to watch NBA in the days of Jordan but quickly lost interest after he left. The games appeared like pick-up games at times. The lack of defense, organization, and communication. Coupled with star players just doing their own thing while the team just feeds them the ball. The NBA has put measures in place so that they can market Star players and not teams. **** like defensive 3 seconds and illegal defense is so ****ing bogus. The NBA would become so much tougher if teams could play a zone. It would increase the competition levels and make teams far better than they are now because they would have to work together. College Basketball is so much better to watch then the NBA but the NBA has the best players so it produces more amazing plays than College.
  6. Nick young is the reason why I won't miss Gilbert. He is a pure scorer with no illusions of being a pg and he caN be a 20ppg guy. I'm excited for his future with us.
  7. So many memories of watching unc down the years. The point guards they have had have always been fun to watch. They push the tempo and are one of the most exciting teams in transition throughout the years. Shammond Williams, cota, felton, lawson. Im sure there are others but there was a dark period there with brad dougherty.
  8. Lol. I was thnking the same ****ing thing the other day. We sorely need a battler inside and if we could ship blatche plus whoever else to get him I would do it yesterday.
  9. I used to like blatche a lot when he was a role player but now he thinks hes some kind of star and trys to do too much. He doesn't seem to play within the offense at all. I wish he would reign it in a bit. The only way this team is gonna win is if everyone commits to team basketball. We are far too impatient on offense and the off the ball movement leaves a lot to be desired.
  10. Lol, does anyone ever take your posts seriously. Just the same recycled BS over and over again. No one cares about what you have to say on this topic at all. Save yourself some time and skip this thread.
  11. Yea, I want to allow myself to be excited but last year was the most excited I have ever been for a wizards season and after that first win against the mavs in dallas I was through the roof. And then it collapsed. A scenario I literally never thought was a possibility. These mofos crushed me. But this is a different kind of hope. A hope that stems from drafting a franchise cornerstone who is already good enough to be a great point guard in this league but who also has ridiculous upside. He is a such a raw talent at this moment. Still so much to learn. The NBA better pray he never figures out how to shoot a mid range jumper. His speed is unplayable. No matter what we do this year, we are gonna be, at the very least, an exciting team to watch.
  12. Im inclined to agree with you. I just don't like that this was coming from arenas. Why can't he just ask the coach to sit him in favor of young this game. He doesn't have to go through a song and dance with the fake injury. Its not really a big deal so whatever but I love the look of this team. And now they have a real leader at point guard and some one they can build around. All they really need now is a dominant center. I live Mcgee a lot but I still think its gonna be a few years til we see the best of him and we could use help at that spot. However, I will say that with such an atheltic roster, Jwall will have a lot of toys to play with in transition. We might not be the most solid team but we damn sure are gonna be hella exciting.
  13. Are u kidding me? He showed glimpses? He only had a little bit of time. He was probably our best player in the last few months of the season. If he had been fit the whole season he would have transformed our game. IMHO, Xabi Alonso was a big crutch used by every player. They never had to move off the ball or find space cause alonso would find them anywhere. When he left we were always going to struggle because the players had been so spoiled. BTW, Aquilani is a much more creative player than alonso. Alonso is just the best passer in the world and can therefore control games from deep whereas Aquilani moves all over the final third looking for space and incisive passes and makes an impact by constantly passing and moving. He would have more than made up for alonso's departure given time but he wasn't. Its a big mistake in my mind and one I hope wasn't made by Roy because I'm already discouraged by his team selections and tactics. IMO, under Rafa, Aquilani would have made us a much more potent side.
  14. you know what? we could have definitely moved towards a far more fluid style of football this year with the acquisitions we have made. However, (and im not sure if roy is totally responsible for this or if rbs or purslow have anything to do with it), we appaer to be in the process of dismantling it. Loaning out Aquilani is really ****ing stupid. He is clearly the most technically gifted player in the squad, not to mention his first rate movement and passing. Also he is very attacking. Similar sort of drive to gerrard. He makes great runs and he really moves the attack forward all by himself. The last quarter of last season was actually a little bit enjoyable because with aquilani healthy, and adding maxi, the football we played was fantastic. Sharp interchanges. Also, that high tempo attack makes lucas' passing game much more effective. He was looking really good at the end of last year and now he might be leaving. What utter horse****e. he then buys poulsen who might as well be identical to lucas. The lineup he put out today against WBA AT HOME was nothing short of pathetic. 2 holding mids with 2 grinders in kuyt and jova on the 'wings'. Talk about sucking all the creativity out of the side. Even then, we were being opened up all game long down the flanks. Very nerve-wrecking. We had to rely on some torres magic again for the millionth time. I hope Roy has a clear plan in mind because right now im less than impressed. What manager goes to Man City away trying to play 442 with gerrard and lucas in center midfield. We got destroyed in the first half of that game. We had no control of the ball and it was actually very reminiscent of the arse game a couple weeks ago. I hope he does better with the next team slection because this one today left a lot to be desired.
