Vick to the Eagles

As a backup QB the guy is terrible.

But as a WR or RB or in the wildcat/wilddawg, he would be a huge threat.

He's a straight up athlete. I Reid uses him like that that could be real problems for the skins. I hate this, actually.

It sucks to have him in the NFCE. Instant McNabb insurance. Instant wildcard player.

The wildcat is a gimmick formation. The Ravens embarassed the Dolphins' offense when they tried to use that crap against them in the playoffs last year.

Yeah but that's all the Vick lovers have right now. He's not going to oust McNabb.

There's something clever about this move by Philly to snag Vick.

The owners won't have to worry about PeTA protesting at games.

Those fans would eat them all alive. Literally.

They don't even like Santa.

Hell they don't even like their own team!

according to the interview on espn, he's going to play TE in lieu of Cornelius Ingram's season-ending injury!

Ironically, he played that position in prison.

Easy transition back to the NFL.

While that is very true, a majority of the teams dream of playing defense as well as the Ravens.

Hmmm. If Donovan struggles, do they insert Vick in? At most, Vick will get 6 games.

Or if Mcnabb struggles this year, is he gone in 2010 and Vick in?

I personally don't think Vick is 100% contrite. I think he's just saying what needs to be said. That 60 minutes interview is probably a soft piece.

Actually, peta thrives on confrontation and this is the NFL's worst nightmare come true. It could get really ugly - really fast.

I think it's a good signing for Philly. I'm disappointed that he has signed within the Beast. As a previous poster mentioned I wanted to root for Vick's comeback but now I cant since he is an Eagle. Now does his six week suspension mean he can't play until Week 7 or does it mean six weeks starting now so he could possible play Week 4?

He could play in the Eagle's first game.
“This is a step-by-step process that goes up to Week 6; it is not a six-game suspension by any means. If all goes well, he could be playing anytime from Week 1 forward. Roger listened to ownership, NFL employees, friends, relatives, players, counselors, people from animal rights groups. In his typical fashion, he sought input and listened to all before acting.”

i agree with the "he's paid his dues" argument, that he deserves the same rights and freedoms as any other American, but playing in the NFL is a privilege, not a right. he certainly finished his sentence, but let's not act like he "made a mistake" and paid for it. a fatal car crash is an (awful) accident; nothing Vick did was accidental, and it was all atrocious and indicative of a terrible, immoral, fundamentally BAD person.

the fact that the Eagles are willing to have that kind of person in their organization is very telling. obviously they want very badly to succeed, and they have absolutely no ethical or moral qualms about how they get there.

Wilddawg formation....that sounds horrible with Vick....

If I were an opposing player, I'd picture Vick grabbing my dog by its legs and slamming it against concrete like a dirty rug or paying one of his punks to kidnap my dog so that it could be used as target practice.

If he thought people were out to injure him before, they're REALLY going to be out to get him now. His layoff from football will make him that much more susceptible to being KTFO.

By the way, this redemption angle that people are trying to apply is so stupid. If a porn star got busted for identity theft and bilking old people out of their retirement, did his time, and then went back to adult films to star in Anal Asians 18, would that be redemption to you? Get your heads out of your asses.
