Did I read this right, let go of Betts?? EDIT: SORRY! I'm hung over and burnt out ...let go of SA. got it.

If he's in good shape, he could very well be signed (I could see a Rob Jackson/Justin Tryon type headed to the practice squad to make room for an extra RB, or maybe they let a depth safety like Justin Hamilton go). When Betts comes back the Skins could let him go; if Alexander is productive, then maybe they find a way to keep him around.

Hey, I bet we can sign QB Jeff George for a small contract too! Isn't he another former player just like Alexander who is washed up? Oh, as for Rock....he has a first step that is slower than Joe Namath's! Please people, wipe the sleep from your eyes....all the talk about Rock as the no. 2 back is a joke. It's too bad Mason was released.....his cutback abilities make him 10 times the RB Cartwright could ever be.

BY all means bring him in....all the posters thinking he will get more than a vet min contract...you are out of your minds.

The guy will be playing for a contract with someone else next year ala big Dan Wilkinson. The guy is a reclamation project, and we give up nada to get him. If he can come in and give CP a breather, and be productive....I say great!!!

My only concern is while we have Zorn and Mitchell.....didnt Zorn keep Gibbs running game in tact from last year? If so, im not sure how familiar he will be with the offense.

I'm out.

Alexander is over the hill, and has always been overrated.

I'd honestly rather have Rock and Sellers getting more carries to give Portis some plays off.

I have never liked Shaun Alexander, he's always been soft--and soft doesn't work in the NFC East.

All of the naysayers will ride the Alexander scrotum the moment he is productive.

Barring we sign him of course.

So you think Alexander will be a good sign? THats kind of a dumb statement. Any fan is going to ride a player that does well. What are you suppose to do. It just doesn't seem like a smart signing. What if they wanted to sign Cedric Benson, if he wasn't already signed by the Bengals? And then he was productive?

And whoever brought up TJ Duckett is a fool. There is no, NO comparison between Alexander and Duckett.

look at the giants...(yea they got their asses handed to them) they use 3 running backs and it is effective. I say let someone like Hamilton go and keep alexander for the season and have a 1-2-3 punch with SA, LB, and CP. Man now that is three headed monster. It all depends on how SA looks though.
