DogofWar1
Rousey probably did need to be humbled. Clear holes in her fight tonight, she needs to rebuild from the basics. I'm no fighter, I did only a small amount of boxing stuff with my roommate for a short while, but probably the first thing he mentioned was protecting the head, moving around, keeping hands up, chin down, etc. It's so basic. She should probably not fight for a year and just train in that aspect of her game. Learning to defend her head alone probably could have kept her around through another couple rounds, and given her more chances to get a takedown right. StillUnknown
How did Jo look? I need to watch the fight. precision striking, landed a beautiful front kick that made her opponent forget her name for half a second Louterneau was tough, but it was a beat down
BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
So is Ronda basically Hulk Hogan? All hype, little actual substance? She can't have made it this far without being an elite fighter right? Genuine question

StillUnknown
So is Ronda basically Hulk Hogan? All hype, little actual substance? She can't have made it this far without being an elite fighter right? Genuine question she has plenty of substance. the division is so new that she's been able to dominate by being a superior athlete and an olympic level talent at one discipline. Tonight she ran into an athlete of similar quality with her own specialty. She couldn't get Holm into her world, and she paid a heavy price she's very much elite in her division, what I objected to were all the pieces proclaiming her the greatest fighter in the sport and the greatest woman athlete of all time (yes some writers went there)
Taylor703
So is Ronda basically Hulk Hogan? All hype, little actual substance? She can't have made it this far without being an elite fighter right? Genuine question Nah. She's an great fighter just completely outclassed by Holm. I honestly don't think she has any chance at taking the belt back from her. When you're beaten that badly it's not just an coincidence. Had it been an lucky punch or kick I could understand it but this was beyond that. This was getting completely destroyed. But no, Ronda is still extremely talented. autoidiodyssey
Tate doesn't have the athleticism or knowledge of footwork that has been ingrained in Holm. She also doesn't have the Greg Jackson in her corner. I think Tate knows how to conceivably beat Rousey, but she lacks the physical traits necessary to carry it out Agreed she doesn't have a great corner. But I don't think she needs Holm level skills to make it a better fight. Holm level skills made Rousey look foolish. If Tate made a real effort to keep it standing I think she could make it a good fight. Might not win but much more competitive than that fight ended up being. She can't have made it this far without being an elite fighter right? Genuine question She's an olympic bronze medalist in Judo. Nobody could stop that skillset from taking over. Totally outclassed girls in that facet. Throw/trip, armbar submission. She did that almost every fight she had. Her striking is pretty powerful, although not technically sound. Her striking defense is pretty awful. She is a specialist, pretty much. Holly did a great job negating it and fighting her fight.

Her foot work, punching, counter-punching, the whole package. I want to see more of Holly Holm. I'm genuinely excited for her future in the sport. CRobi21
Holm didnt look anywhere close to this level in her previous fights, imo. The skill was there, but it wasnt quite as sharp as tonight. She really brought it tonight and took full advantage of Rondas sloppy charging style. What a magic night for Holm. Just perfect in every aspect. Edited November 15, 2015 by STBonecrusher21

Holly Holm is already 34, and has spent a lifetime in combat sports. She's probably got 2 more years max before the deterioration comes 115lbs has a couple of exciting prospects that should be hitting the UFC in the next year or so, not seeing much at 135lbs to get excited about moving forward Holm didnt look anywhere close to this level in her previous fights, imo. Just perfect in every aspect. She looked really nervous in her 1st UFC fight. Her second was better but not exactly spectacular. She put it all together tonight. I hope she can perform at this level going forward and it wasn't a stars aligning type thing. Dana White was just on FS1, looking a bit shell shocked. He said Rousey was taken to the hospital, she has a bit of Robbie Lawler lip going on and needed to get that closed up. StillUnknown
so which camp gets Ronda Rousey? Hard to imagine she sticks with the guy her mom wants to run over. she should run to Kings MMA. Rafael Cordeiro is doing magical things with his fighters at the moment

I see, I knew she was at the hospital, thought it could've been the jawbone snapped in two. Wouldn't have been surprising. Despite her age I think she can experience some longevity in the sport due to the poor competition.

Ronda is still the clear cut #2 fighter in the division, but she was no where the greatest athlete of all time or whatever bull**** Rogan was saying.
