DjTj
In a small newspaper in Louisiana today, Michael Irvin was interviewed about the Hall of Fame: -=-=-=-=-=- http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060611/SPORTS/606110382/1006 The Monroe News Star June 11, 2006 Talking with … Michael Irvin By Paul J. Letlow Q: Who is not in the Hall of Fame now who should be? A: Art Monk comes to mind right away. At the time he retired, he was the all-time leader in the league in receptions. There are no definite parameters for what it is. No certain number of catches or yardage. The reality for me is this. If you caught a lot of passes and didn't win — Andre Reed caught 1,000 passes but didn't win a Super Bowl. OK. But when you catch a lot of passes and win Super Bowls, you should be a lock. That's not saying I caught a lot of passes. I only caught 750. But Ark Monk is like nine-something.
slackermike
I think that might be the most intelligent thing Michael Irvin has ever said.

RonJeremy
apparently Irvin had a "moment of clarity"....sometimes that happens with crack heads.
mirtemp
I am def no Irvin fan but at least he gets it! Hail!!
NewCliche21
All I can see in my head is Dr. Z saying this with his fingers in his ears "LALALALALALLAA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
SkinsFTW
Yeah, but, but, Monk didn't get those catches in the Super Bowl games themselves, so they shouldn't count. "Peter Queen"
CrypticVillain
Even a Dallas Crackboy know Monk should have been a lock.
AllAboutSkins08
queenie must have some kind of personal thing against art for still not wanting to vote him in. maybe art didn't give him an autograph or something. when you can get your enemy to praise you, there's no reason why anyone shouldn't like you. jnhay
These Michael Irvin drug jokes are getting really annoying.
Chris Lamb
Michael Irvin has a brain. He also can give credit where credit is due. I might have an ounce of respect for him now. Maybe a 1/4 ounce, I don't want to go overboard here.
BleedBNG
Since there are usually 2 WR sets on the line... they should select 2 HOF WR's from each decade. Here's mine: '80's - Jerry Rice & Art Monk '90's - Michael Irvin & Cris Carter

Here's mine:'80's - Jerry Rice & Art Monk '90's - Michael Irvin & Chris Carter You could debate that Rice is a WR of the 90s. That is where most of his stats came from, receptions from Young, not Montana.
Commander PK
Even Irvin knows that Monk should be in the Hall of Fame. The voters should take note of comments like that coming from one of the all-time great players, of the Redskins most hated rival.
DWinzit
It's still about him. The sooner Monk gets in, the sooner Irvin gets his shot.
GrimReaper21
I like Irvin. Everytime he is on espn, he talks good about the skins, and picked them many times to win games last year. He too deserves to be in the hall.
authentic
man M. Irvin was actually sober?!!!
MossPortisTaylorRocky
both should be in the hall of fame. The best WR on teams that won 3 super bowls. The hall of fame to media is like the MVP vote in basketball. They vote for who they like.
CounterTrey
Say what you want about Irvin, he was a playmaker and yes he does have his crackhead moments but he gets it. Wish Peter Queen would get it too
TheREALJBird
I think this just goes to show that Ex players should be on the HOF committee because they know first hand that person's accomplishments. Irvin got one right this time

Fifty Gut
Irvin is just saying that because he knows damn well if Monk can't get in, he sure as hell won't

True, but his avg.'s were higher in the '80s (by 3 yrds), won 2 SB's in the '80's, and was the MVP in SB XXIII. Maybe it should be: Jerry Rice - All-Time great (pick your decade... or both) '80's - Art Monk & Steve Largent (member HOF) '90's - Michael Irvin & Cris Carter
