MrMan978
From Foxsports.com NEW YORK (AP) - NFL owners voted unanimously Thursday to break off talks with the players' union on a contract extension, leaving the current salary cap in place with the start of free agency looming - and possibly forcing the mass dumping of veterans. The owners, who met for 57 minutes Thursday morning, endorsed a recommendation by their management council executive committee to reject the union's latest proposal. NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue was expected to have a news conference later Thursday morning. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5373010
herrmag
You're going to get worked for the title of this thread. I guess we'll see what Dan's backup plan is.

As I said in another thread, LaVar would COST money to cut. Not save. Now, plenty of other Redskins will go buh-bye. But not Levar...not unless Snyder/Gibbs are *really* sick of him. feeshta
Lavar will not be cut, this almost guarantees that. We would have to take a cap hit to cut Lavar, rather than save money. So, Lavar stays for now and hopefully restructures to save us a little cap room.

KDawg
As already stated, LaVar COULD be cut, but he won't save us anything. So cutting him, a talented athlete that can help us out while we cut other talented athletes, is NOT a good decision.

bobzmuda
LaVar had a greater chance of getting cut if the CBA was extended.

112row2
Bad post, bad title. Please check your sources on issues before posting. From all that has been reported and from the fact that he would COST us money to keep him, as has been stated before, he is not going to be cut as a result of this news... MisterPinstripe
What is so hard to understand about this? There is no way lavar is being cut. First off it would cost more money to cut him to keep him, and THEN we would have to sign someone else to replace him. Would cost a LOT more to cut him then keep him. Its pretty simple. SackMachine
This is the nhl all over again, atleast the season wont be cancelled. Hopefully we dont have to cut to many guys, if we got that far in the playoffs last year with that group, another year together would do wonders. SkinsHokieFan
This implies that Lavar will get cut due to no extenstion of the CBA. No it does not It costs us money AGAINST the cap to cut Lavar. Cutting Lavar with NO EXTENSION would be downright stupid As is this misleading thread title

rebornempowered
I am by no means a cap genius but I know that it is not worth cutting Lavar. It is too much of a cap hit. For the love of Pete.

Art
This implies that Lavar will get cut due to no extenstion of the CBA. Please reference where that implication exists. And, when you've poured out your imagination to us we'll understand it exists only in your head. LaVar may be cut prior to his additional bonus coming due, but, that has nothing to do with the CBA being extended or not. That has to do with how much you are willing to play a guy who only earned part-time playing status on your roster. Which is why it would only be a sad day for Redskin fans if a part-time player were allowed to cost us so much money and a happy day is for him to cost less.
