my 3 favorite performances have already been mentioned but i'll list them anyway:

Jack in the Shining

Spacey in the Usual Suspects

Hoffman in Rain Man

i know people say Depp in Pirates, but i think a lot of people overlook Geoffery Rush's job as Barbosa.

i also liked Tom Hanks in Private Ryan

Pacino - Scareface

Hanks - Forest Gump

Vin Diesel - The Fast and the Furious

Arnold - The Terminator(the first one)

Bruce Lee - All of them, and none of them. :D (He was the same on screen and off screen, and that phrase is a little tribute to his saying "No way, as a way"[something like that])

Bruce Willis - Die Hard and Last Man Standing

Samuel L Jackson - Pulp Fiction

Stephen Chow - Shaolin Soccer

Adam Sandler - Happy Gilmore

Jack Nickleson - One Who Flew Over the CooCoo's Nest

Brad Pitt's character in Fight Club was pretty righteous.

I also thought the part of Casear's son in Gladiator played the Phoenix brother (the guy currently portraying Johnny Cash) was phoenomonal. He was brilliant and in my opinion stole the show from Russell Crow.

Great minds think alike. The scene where he kills his father was unbelievably great acting, I thought.

Rutger Hauer's acting in Blade Runner was mighty impressive as well.

Bill Murray - very underrated until the "Lost In Translation" Oscar nomination.

Tom Hanks....Forrest Gump

Actually...Tom Hanks in ANYTHING. The man's incredible.

I agree...Tom Hanks is generally pretty good in everything. I didn't like Road to Perdition though...I'm probably the only one. It did not live up to the hype, in my humble opinion. :whoknows:

Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies of all time. He was also excellent in Saving Private Ryan. But Tom Hanks best role of all time was The Burbs!!!

Everyone knows who Robin Williams is. Everyone seems to love Robin Williams. Robin Williams is a bankable star in hollywood. Critics almost always praise Robin Williams' performances. Robin Williams is considered one of the greatest comedic actors ever. Robin Williams has won an Oscar.

Yet you say

Robin Williams is probably one of the most under rated actors ever.

My question: How highly do you want him to be rated?

I can't believe I'm on a football board and I'm the only one to mention Cuba Gooding Jr. as Rod Tidwell in Jerry MaGuire. What is wrong with you people???

Hell, Larry ADMITS to liking Tom Arnold in True Lies and your worried about no mentioning of Cuba Gooding Jr????

He STOLE the oscar from my man Ed Norton that year, wasn't even close ;)

My favorites that haven't been mentioned so far are:

Jason Scwartzman as Max Fiscer in Rushmore

Klaus Kinski as Don Lope de Aguirre in Aguirre: The Wrath of God.

Helena Bonham Carter as Marla Singer in Fight Club

Jason Lee as Jeff BeBe in Almost Famous

Adam Sandler as Bary Egan in Punch Drunk Love

Jean Pierre Leaud as Antoine Doinel The 400 Blows

F. Murray Abraham as Salieri and Tom Hulce as Mozart in Amadeus

Charlie Chaplin as A Tramp in City Lights.

John Hurt as John Merrick in The Elephant Man

Kate Winslet as Juliette Hulme in Heavenly Creatures.

Jim Carrey as Joel Barrish in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind.

Oh, I though I should mention that of these. Only 3 were nominated for Oscars, and only one won. This makes me sad.

What...for Primal Fear? Get outta here. I liked Primal Fear, but it wasn't all that. Norton was great in it, I'll admit, but he didn't have anything on my man Cuba!! That's one of the greatest roles of the 20th century!! Come on, man!!

"Heart?? I'M ALL HEART, MOTHA****A!!!"

Besides, Primal Fear wasn't even Norton's best role...I liked him in American History X much better.
