Dog shoots hunter after man leaves shotgun on ground

EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — A dog stepped on a 12-gauge shotgun Wednesday, shooting a hunter in the back with bird-shot pellets. William Rancourt, 36, of Lebanon, N.H., was nearly 22 yards away when a hunting dog stepped on the trigger guard of a shotgun lying on the ground, causing it to discharge, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources

I've never been to a Waffle House, but if there's any truth in Jim Gaffigan's bit about them, this is hardly unbelievable.

Some of the older ones are not well maintained, they haven't been like other fast food chains that have done massive overhauls of all their locations.  The newer ones are fine, but its true its a popular afterhours spot. When I used to work in one in Dumfires, VA, that was basically the last stop for everyone coming back from clubing in DC.  Go sit at the counter on a weekday and get an All-Star Breakfast when you have a chance, its pretty cool watching them doing all that cooking without tickets (we'd have to remember everything that's ordered as its called out).

True story, when this Oregon guy tried to present research he did showing traffic lights in his town were timed poorly, a state board fined him $500 for "practicing engineering without a license." Now it has to eat crow.

Service animal went after feline-dressed performer during Broadway play

(Newser) – A showing of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats almost went to the dogs this week, quite literally. Witnesses tell the New York Post that during a performance at New York City's Neil Simon Theatre, a service dog broke free from its owner during the opening number and rushed the stage to go after the character Bombalurina, played by actress Mackenzie Warren. An usher reportedly came to the rescue, rounding up the "wayward canine" and bringing it back to its "mortified owner."
