Wow, I didn't see that coming. Guess he really didn't flash at all when he played.

That and probably to stay in line with culture improvements by the new regime

So I was looking at our Cap space on Spotrac.

Est Cap Space All: 24,078,633

Est Cap Space Top 51: 43,718,633

DOes anyone find the fact we have more capspace in top 51 over all a bit suspect? Did we sign a lot of guys knowing we are cutting some bait in camp?

I think you are confused by what those numbers represent.

Yes, teams carry 90-man rosters in the offseason before cutting down to 53 by the end of preseason.

Schefty says Tee Higgins has also requested a trade...

I've been pushing us to acquire him for months now. Didn't know if he'd be available - I suppose we still don't really know - but he remains a top target for me.

The fact the Bengals haven’t even attempted to talk contract with Higgins in over a year (which had already been reported a while ago) is such BS from that organization. Not even a good faith effort to keep the guy, they just want to control his rights for a while longer. May as well trade him

There are some tempting rookie rushers that could be good LBs to pickup and easier to change than Jamin too.

I hope we bring in some kickers for training camp. Whether they are UDFA, free agents or kickers from the UFL. Brandon McManus has a worse career percentage of FGs made than Joey Slye (who ironically is now with the Jaguars), so we didn't really upgrade there. Never understood the McManus signing for 3.5 million in the first place, he has been average at best recently.

If McManues wins the job in an open competition - great. But I want to have that competition. There are great kickers out there who just need a chance and we haven't really had a good kicker in forever and I am not very confident that that's going to change with McManus now.

Got to be honest…I’d also still consider a WR move. I think Jahan is currently a #3 in my opinion. We’ve drafted WR #4. We are incredibly reliant on Terry.

There are a ton of options still available. I’m looking for this aggressive recruitment approach to continue into camp…

He is great at extra points and really good from 49 and under.  Slye had PAT issues, that's for sure.  I agree completely though. Definitely need a couple guys to come in and compete. It seems like many other teams find diamonds in the rough, quite often. Guys nobody has ever heard of. And they end up having a terrific season. Seems like we haven't had a stud kicker since Chip Lohmiller! It can definitely make a big difference in a team's success.

Its hard to know how to rate Jahan given how bad we were last year.  Last year is an incomplete for him as far as I am concerned.

Looking at that list I'll mark them this way:

*G Nick Allegretti - 3 year, $16 million

*DE Clelin Ferrell - 1 year, $3.75 million

*S Jeremy Chinn - 1 year, up to $5.1m

*LB Bobby Wagner - 1 year, up to $8.5m

*LB Anthony Pittman - 1-year, $1.1 million

&CB Noah Igbinoghene- 1-year deal

%CB Michael Davis - 1-year deal
