NGL.

I have no feeling either way regarding Daniels or Maye.

I just don’t think either one will end up being the player that most of us think they will be and worthy of a selection this high in any draft.

It really is a tough, franchise altering decision. I don’t envy AP at all.

Anybody else thinking this?

I wouldn’t trade both our 2nds to trade up for a LT. I might trade a 2nd and 3rd, but still doubtful I’d want to.

If 8-10 OT really go off the board before we pick at 36, there are going to be some absolute studs available at other positions, in a good draft class. We need OT badly but I’m not passing up that talent, draft a developmental OT later. We need Pro Bowlers and All-Pro’s.

Pick

Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels

LSU · QB · Senior

As we come down the home stretch, the whispers of Washington's preference for Daniels have become a roar. I'm sure the Commanders have had suitors looking to acquire this pick -- including the Raiders -- but I don't see GM Adam Peters passing on the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

19

Amarius Mims

Amarius Mims

Georgia · OT · Junior

PROJECTED TRADE WITH LOS ANGELES RAMS

I can't imagine the Commanders are going to sit back at No. 36 and hope that fate lands them a top offensive tackle early in Round 2, given the expectation that there will be a run on them in the first round. They could and should be aggressive to move up for a premium prospect at the position. Based on my discussions with college programs and NFL teams, Washington has done a lot of work on the top OTs in the class. Poised to make a first-round pick for the first time since 2016, Rams GM Les Snead has a chuckle and trades out once again. This deal could net him the 36th and 40th picks in the draft if he gives up a third-rounder in the swap.

There’s a QB thread. This one is mostly for people to get away from that madness and talk about every other position, FYI

I think you're delusional if you don't think we would need to give up both 2's. I honestly think we'd consider giving next year's first if the right player is available. We need a LT.

Okay, I didn’t say we wouldn’t “need to” if we want to move up for a particular OT—I said I wouldn’t. And to emphasize that, I said I’d still have to think about it even if it was only a 2nd and 3rd.

A 2nd and 3rd could certainly get us from 36 up into the late 20’s, btw. If that’s what they wanted. But again, I’m not sure I’d do it. Would have to see who else is falling.

I don’t think we’d be open to giving up a future 1st, but who knows. Maybe Peters wants to get crazy and get into the top-15 and keep 40. But I doubt it.

Yeah it def depends how far up we're looking to go. I guess I'm saying I wouldn't mind us giving up what we need to draft a stud LT. If we gave up one of the 2's and next year's 1 to get into the top 15 I wouldn't be mad.

That's #19 & #83 for #36 & #40

OverTheCap model has that as 2269 value coming in and 2315 going out.

Rich Hill model has 330 coming in and 315 going out.

That seems pretty fair value wise. One chart has us losing slightly, the other winning slightly.

For the record, Tyler Guyton is the next pick. So do we do that trade and roll the dice on the injured Unicorn OT?

I think the team wants Paul or Morgan. They will go between 25 and are 2nd rd pick.

They could slip to us they may not. One thing to watch the university of Washington Ot has a medical flag on a knee he may drop a little. He will probably be mid to late 1rd now, like 19 to 25.

One way or another we need to improve this oline.

If we keep 36 and 40 I think Morgan is a safe bet for one of those picks.

I'm curious who we target at WR. We didn't really address the position at all in FA minus a couple of ST/camp bodies types and this is a very deep class, but I don't think we brought in any for a visit.

I’d be willing to give up a 25 pick or J. Allen.

I wonder what Allen value is? Could u get a late 1st? I would rather keep him we would have to get another DT they are weak this draft.

Glad to see someone else has him #1 as well. I wonder how much the medicals are going to effect him. Straight up beast though.

I've got him sixth overall on my board.  I think he and Turner are the two elite defensive players of the class.  I'm almost there on Quinyon and Latu, but not quite.

Love Jared Verse. Wish it was a non, "Getting our QB year", so we could grab him.

Also, pouring a little liquor out tonight for Volsmet. Would be nice to have him in the draft forum. Subtraction by subtraction. Would have been nice to keep him in the fold.

A wild scenario for me would be if we ended up with 3 first rounders…..

Here me out…

We use 36 and a third to move up

We use 40 and a third to move up

in both of those trades we get a 1st plus a late 4th/5th back in return, meaning overall number of picks stays the same.

I know that’s crazy.

Yes.  Inconsistent as heck player but measurables are great.

Yeah I love Mims he's such a smooth player in pass protect.  He moves like he's 300 pounds.

I don't know....I think he looks likes Frankenstein in pass pro.  He has a rock solid base but he's got some heavy feet.  To me he moves like a guard but he does have ideal length.  But I will say that comparing Cornelius Lucas in college to now in the NFL looks night and day.

When Mims develops he will be a stud.

But I want Mekhi Becton...bring the kid back home and plug him in at RT.  I think Becton could be our Morgan Moses and then we just have to nab one of these tackles in a very deep class.

I took Myles in the board's mock draft, freakish measurables,  I considered putting him higher in my own rankings, in retrospect I probably should have

I don't see Gabriel Murphy on your EDGE list. What's the deal with him? Is he injured or have bad medicals or something? He's all over the board on mock drafts from 3rd round to 7th. But PFF power rankings have him solidly ranked around pick 110.
