Totally forgot about Moses. And Jacksonville just released him last month. I mean it's gotta be worth kicking the tires, right? Dude was electric in college. Obviously medical red flags.

I'm pretty sure he was cleared to practice b4 he got cut, so I don't think he is "injured" right now. Can't speak about anything regarding diminished abilities as I know nothing.

Already had two teams in the league. Local to the team ? Think I recall him being discussed a fair bit around the time he was drafted. Worth a look for depth in camp ?

  • Antoine Brooks: Let go by Rams

    Rotowire  MAY 4, 2022

The Rams waived Brooks on Wednesday.

Brooks played exclusively special teams during his time with the Rams in 2021. The 2020 sixth-round pick registered 29 defensive snaps across four games and made two tackles during his rookie season with Pittsburgh.

For a guy who isn't wrong often, he seemed to get that FA signing thing wrong. We immediately sign a return specialist after that podcast.

What FA signing wrong?  Did he say in some podcast they wouldn't add depth at WR that can return kicks?  i just caught up with Keim's podcasts, on one of them, I wasn't paying full attention so wondering what i missed?

I thought yesterday he said not to expect any signings and then (while I was listening to the podcast) we signed a KR. DId I misread that.

Oh, ok.  I don't think he meant marginal players like that.  I took it as him referring to going after someone like Collins.

Whenever Keim says something like that, he almost for sure is told that by the FO, he doesn't really guess this type of stuff and when he does he says its a guess.

But regardless, no one is 100% right but in his case whomever he talked to clearly didn't see that KR signing as a big deal

I think Kiem said he didn’t think there were going to be any more FA signings for the next couple of week, because that’s when the team has done signings before.

I took the comment more as an educated guess than “reporting” but yeah, that “report” or “educated guess” turned out to be wrong very quickly.

I’d have to go back and listen (which I’m not going to do) but it came across to me more like connecting the dots because he mentioned the practice schedule and when they made moves before.

not that it really matters.  I think he phrased it like “I would not expect…”

Shrug.  Whatever.

It could be.  I didn't really zone in too much on how he said it because I didn't find it that interesting.

If we sign a solid CB, LB, buffalo nickel and another DT.....We're winning the division and going deep into the playoffs....with a legitimate shot at the Superbowl.    Book it!

You spelled paloffs wrong, but I like where your head's at.

In the last 30 years I've only felt strongly about us going deep in the playoffs twice....1991 and 2000.....But as I said, we need to make 3-4 more solid additions prior to the season.

Eagles' off season seems to be generating some hype.  I admit them adding AJ Brown solves their WR issues.  Brown and D.  Smith are a really good combo.  N Dean I think is a good get.  And adding Jordan Davis and Reddick adds to their front 7.

they supposedly chased the honey badger but he signed with the Saints and supposedly now want Bradberry.   Their version of the dream team part 2?  They usually don't do as well when the expectations are high and on that front they are similar to our team.

9. The Eagles will be in the NFC title game

I  was big on them a year ago and telling you guys in October that they will surprise people. They made the playoffs. They are ascending and have had a great offseason. The rest of the conference is largely in regression. I think Jalen Hurts has some 'it' factor to him. They will have more bite on defense and can play keep-away on offense.

As for Bradberry, I'd love it if he's cheap but I don't expect him to be so I doubt he comes here.

I've been thinking about this and if released the giants have really been ****ty to him.

FA started 2 months ago and several team spent a good portion of their money.

Draft done,  teams that missed on cb in FA went draft.

So he has fewer options and teams with lesser cap space.   I see a 1 year deal so he can try again with full fa period next year.   Basically think this is the point of the june 1st cuts.  Allowing guys a chance to sign earlier in the process.   Idk what he'll ultimately sign for,  but a 1/8-10 is my guess.

They did a feature on GMFB about the Eagles so there is a lot of hype there.  However, it was also mentioned they should have never been in the playoffs and were way over matched by Tampa who we've surprisingly been able to compete with.  They also showed tape on them against the Cowboys who scorched them both times last season, 41-21 and 51-26.

It was pretty funny.  Every year these prognosticators get over their skis.  LOL

I’m not worried about the Eagles. I was post draft when I thought they’d get Mathieu. Not now.

We need to go out and pick up 2 or 3 vets now in FA that offer great value. I keep saying Bradberry. Stacks of corners. Daryl Williams on a 2 year deal, my God, right hand side of the line set. Just waiting for a key cut from another roster. We need to keep adding whilst we can.

Yeah the last time I recall this kind of hype about them was their dream team put together at the time by Louis Reddick.  And that flopped.  They are getting a lot of hype for this season and typically that backfires.

At least he’s aware of it. Now let’s see what they do about it…

Agreed. I guess we are banking on scooping talent that gets cut.

Fingers crossed for a Charles Leno situation at Linebacker. Maybe we will get desperate enough and do an Ereck Flowers-esque trade for a middle of the road vet.

Soooooo, anything happen?

New cliche was responding to my previous post:

"EMERGENCY ALERT:

JOHN KEIM COMING UP ON SIRIUS XM NFL RADIO CHANNEL 88 (I THINK) IN MOMENTS!!!"

Sorry for the delay had an appointment with a young whippersnapper cardiologist intent on keeping me around a few more years. I had to set him straight.

XXX

To be honest there were no real revelations for any of us who've been keeping up with Keim the past few weeks but there were a few significant nuggets for the national audience.

As best as I can recall:

1. Keim mentioned that the goal of our draft was to select reliable players with high floors even if there were more raw but talented players available.

2. Early in the draft Rivera wants rookies that can contribute week one. Not players that they will have to develop before they're ready to contribute.

3. Alot of our early scouting was seemingly done during the senior bowl. I think he said the vast majority of our draftees played in it.

4. Rivera expects immediate contribution from our first 4 picks.

*5. The decision to trade down from 11 to 16 was made for three reasons:

First, the wrs they apparently wanted most, Drake London and Garret Wilson had already been selected.

Second, they calculated that there wasn't much of a difference between their valuation of the player that would be available for them at 16 vs the player they would select if they stayed at 11.

Third, they desperately wanted additional picks in rounds 3 through 5 which they felt was the true strength of this draft.

6. They always liked Dotson and they knew they had him rated higher than other teams did.

7. They tried to get Keim to bite on the possibility of a qb controversy but he held his ground well.

Keim said we are absolutely committed to Wentz and barring injury he's the starter and Heinicke is his backup-- full stop.

Howell will get playing time in the preseason, but his job this year is to absorb the playbook, learn from the vets ahead of him, work on developing his game, and be prepared for 2023.
