We don’t have that many players under contract for 2022. Well under the required level so I’d expect a fair few signings of that nature.

no, I mean they needed to actually take him off the COVID list

I’m sure it’s just procedural but players are still around the facility working out/rehabbing, etc. all offseason so many of the same safety measures will stay in effect I believe.

Reading the comments in there is so predictable...

He's too small/will be injured

Gibson should be in that role.

Disagree with both takes.

It's like people didn't watch Samuel's last year with the Panthers. His dual-threat ability is literally a key element of this offense's design (per Turner).

Gibson is the running back. I just don't understand the obsession with moving him from the fanbase.

Washington with over $4 million

And sounds like they put some of Leno's extension in there first ($2.25M). So, that also helps for 2022 and I assume that the carryover will basically go towards extensions anyway.

Other than Terry, Flowers and Schweitzer I would be looking at on O. They have a lot of work to do this year with contracts. Need to get that QB to clarify the structure of the team. Rookie vs vet is night and day.

It is worth noting we pushed some of Leno’s extension signing bonus through the 2021 cap year as well, so the 4mil carry over takes that into account.

@Silvernonbeat me to it :ols:

Hats off to the FO.

Collins will be gone and then it's a clean slate. That money I would just divert straight to Terry and call it a day.

They'll have 5 studs on O (Terry, Gibson, Samuel, Thomas, McKissic) next year, and that should be enough with a good QB. They can't go another year without a real QB. I have faith in Rivera and co. despite passing on Herbert.

This team with a Rodgers (not happening) would be great and we'd be singing more praise for the O weapons. It is what it is. They need a QB....and a Mike on defense.

I think your definition of "stud" is generous. McLaurin is the only one I'd consider a stud. Gibson is solid, but flawed. Curtis Samuel has one above average year in 5 shots. Thomas is okay, but has one good year and is coming off an ACL tear. And McKissic is a back up RB with one good skill. The team could use another receiver. A bona fide starter. It could also use a real back-up to Gibson.

Adams is a free agent he may do sign and trade with someone. They are over the cap big time in green bay.

He'll be franchised (or resign before that), so I wouldn't worry to much about it. He won't really be on the market.

That’s not really how it works, sign and trade isn’t a concept in the NFL 99% of the time bc signing a player to a long term deal with big guaranteed money and a large signing bonus leaves a monster dead cap hit when they’re traded. So no, that scenario won’t be happening.

Your opinion.

For me,  I look at it a bit different.

Gibson just rushed for the 2nd most yards in the NFC and he's shown steady progression from his raw rookie year. The team has talked of it and I think it's obvious that he is getting better. There are games he has quietly worn out the defense. He's a great blocker and that is rare too. Year 3? I expect him to be awesome.

Samuel had one amazing year. Let's not downplay it. It's 50/50 at this point. I see the injury concerns, however he is dynamic and Deebo-esque. NFL is all about the short game and that's where he lives. He subbed in on key downs and made the catches this year.

Few traditional TEs left in this game and more specialists because they're hard to find. Thomas is top 5, and top 10 overall. I'm optimistic, so I'm thinking he returns and the new QB leans on him and gets some TDs as the best redzone target.

McKissic is a Sproles. He's a weapon as a 3rd down back. There were a few games where he was one of the best on the field for either team.

None of these guys are projections, all have proven track records at being good, great, and elite at what they do. Not to mention the line being a huge strength and the coaching staff showing a great ability to develop talent. Offense is creeping up on the defense as far as overall unit talent.

Well, I'd say it's an opinion shared by most of the league. The 5 "studs" you named have a combined zero All-Pro selections, zero Pro Bowls, and frankly a lot of question marks. Logan Thomas has one year over 200 yards receiving, which topped out at 670. But to you, he's potentially a top 5 TE. I guess the list goes Kelce, Kittle, Gronkowski, and then Thomas? Samuel has one season with over scrimmage yards, barely getting to 1051 being the third received on a bad Carolina team. McKissic has never eclipsed 1000 scrimmage yards. McKissic and Thomas are also past their prime, so not really sure we'd expect them to get better.

Main point being you act like these guys are all-stars. Difference makers. McLaurin is. I don't see how you can really claim any of the others are. Gibson is an okay guy, middle of the road type running back. Thomas is at least an NFL starter. Calling Samuel a starter might be a stretch, he's probably not even in the Top 50 WRs in the NFL. McKissic is a decent role player. The fact is almost every team in the NFL has at least 5 guys as good as these guys, many teams have more. If Washington has 5 studs on offense, then they need more because everyone else does.

Yeah people are overrating our supporting cast. They're okay but nothing special. McLaurin is good to very good but he's not an elite difference maker. Thomas is a little above average at best. Gibson is talented but misused. I like McKissic but guys like him are all over the league, they just don't get as many touches because most of those teams have better weapons on the outside.

For the QB needy teams, the Broncos, Saints, and Steelers all have better skill players.

Rare to see players on bad teams get national recognition.

Baldinger raved about Gibson. People disagree with him too.

Thomas is behind the elite TEs, but we are seriously downplaying his value. Still, I get your perspective.

Samuel > McKissic as x-factors, but both dynamic. Your top 4 passing options in this O are Terry, Logan, Samuel and McKissic. You need a 5th, but I do believe in the group with a competent QB. These guys were open a fair amount. Hardly a healthy season for your top receivers, but they also didn't have a QB to get them the ball.
