Yeah that'll never happen. You think Mitch McConnells going to allow his wife to be questioned by Congress on live TV? I don't. I doubt any other cabinet members would accept either. It's been difficult enough to get the few members to testify behind closed doors.

Hell I could see challenging Trump to testify live. Once again don't see it even happening. He'd be crazy enough tho to accept if the decision was left up to just him.

If I refused to testify before Congress, would they let that slide?  No.  So don't let them slide either.  If they don't show up at the appointed place and time, go arrest the mother ****ers.  Would Mitch McConnell let it slide if the roles were reversed?  No.  So take off the ****ing kid gloves and stop fighting like a ****ing ****.

Even if ya got every member of the Trump administration to testify it won't change a damn thing. Their testimony would be refuted on Twitter and 40% of the country will believe the tweet and not the sworn testimony. We've already seen that. Trump tried to choke one of his secret service agents. Nobody really cared after a few days. 🤣

Your focus is too narrow.  It isn't always about the voters.  Notice how much trouble Trump is having finding a decent lawyer?  That's because no one wants to work with him.  How would people in his circle act if they knew they could be called before Congress or go to jail if they refused?

Oh I agree. I'd love to see arrests made for defying congressional subpoenas by anyone who refuses to testify. Only reason for them not doing so is they think they've got enough evidence on Trump n his cronies. From what we've all seen Trumps guilty as ****.

There will always be some screwballs willing to work for Trump. I'll never understand why. The threats of a year in prison for defying Congress ain't much of a deterrent for these types.

U.S. Reveals More Classified Records May Be Missing in Trump Probe

They need to search Bedminster, Trump Tower, and any of Trump's other properties.

Questions raised over 2021 footage of Trump taking boxes from Mar-a-Lago to Bedminster

Following the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, questions are being raised after footage taken in May 2021 has reemerged showing Donald Trump decamping from Palm Beach, Florida, to his New Jersey golf club for the summer.

In the video, originally filmed for The Daily Mail, the former president can be seen alongside a private jet as up to nine cardboard storage boxes are loaded onto the aircraft.

Former FBI agent Peter Strzok, once part of the Robert Mueller investigation into Russian collusion, noted on Twitter that the footage was taken on 9 May 2021, after the National Archives and Records Administration had informed the Trump team that material was missing and may be at the Mar-a-Lago residence.

“We know things are very chaotic, as they always are in the course of a one-term transition,” Gary Stern, the agency’s chief counsel wrote to Mr Trump’s lawyers. “But it is absolutely necessary that we obtain and account for all presidential records.”

Mr Strzok tweeted: “Better check Bedminster…” suggesting that Mr Trump ordered the removal of archival material from his winter home in Florida to his summer residence at the Trump National Golf Club at Bedminster, New Jersey.

Further, Mr Strzok notes that the brand of box used is the same as those seen in the evidence photo taken by the FBI during the 8 August 2022 search of Mar-a-Lago after the continued failure to return missing documents to the National Archives.

The photo agency that took the footage of the jet being loaded noted on Twitter that they witnessed “dozens of file boxes carried by aides”.

I know you're not new here, it's just sort of surprising that you haven't seen me screaming about the GOP for pretty much most of the 20 or so years I've been posting here. In fact, of all of us, i think I have been one of the loudest firebrands on this site against them. I'd say in my last thousand posts, 950 of them are screaming about the danger of the GOP.

To my former GOP status,, i am not wrestling with anything. I gave up on them entirely about 15 yrs ago, and as of now, I'll never vote for another one until this entire iteration of the GOP is put on trial and removed from every public aspect of American life, except to see them in orange jumpsuits picking up trash on the side of the road.
They are fascists. (FTR, I vote for ideas. Not a team, not a single set of rules as to how policy is to be implemented. The world changes too fast for rigid thinking like that. Earn my vote with ideas and policies that work to advance our nation, and I'll cast it. )
Now, if they can come back to embrace ideologies like you see out of Republican Larry Hogan (actual conservatism, not this religious zealotry and fascism that they are now.) , then i may reconsider, but right now, there's no way in hell. The most I'd ever give any of them is spit right in their eyes.

However, the Democrats and their weak kneed response to all of it has given it all the life it needs. Their failure to rein in any of it, to be continually bullied by a minority that canges rules to suit them has been embarrassing and dangerous to watch. They had opportunities to protect us from this and failed.
Not recognizing that is to be blind as a bat.
And that sort of blindness is what allows the fascists to rise.

Now new to the board, new to the politics thread. I stand by my position that with 2 impeachments, the J6 investigation etc they are trying, the GOP continues to hinder them.

I will agree with Bang...2 impeachments should've done the trick, but Dems declined throwing down the gauntlet.

Well, trust me when i tell you, i am NOT blaming the Dems for him.

i just wish they would handle him differently, stronger. Treat him like the existential threat to our country that he absolutely is.

Welcome to this side of the house!

Man, the TDS-addled mother****ers are through the roof on Twitter about Trump being in DC. Analyzing everything from his shoes to the woman who could or could not be law enforcement and her “official stance,” and how OMMMMMGGGGG THIS COULD BE IT THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

I get it, I want him locked up too but the salivating over this is over the top. It’s like hopes and dreams are riding on this. I don’t know if that Ron Filipkowski guy has a mortgage to pay but I hope for his sake he’s got a steady job other than grinding on Twitter each day. Same goes for that Eric Clapton looking mother****er too.

Not a lot of lawyerin' going on with that tweet volume.  I bet he's got one of those offices between the Boost Mobile store and the liquor shop.

That's just jokes, TEG.  I'm sure he's doing just fine.

Peedon Fest would be more accurate. What a bimbo. I hope that doesn’t offend any bimbos out there. Actually, now that I think of it, bimbos are supposed to be attractive. She’s more of a Caitlyn Jenner…

But what does "throwing down the gauntlet" mean?  What power did they possess to take more action?   2 impeachments would have never done the trick as the GOP members refused to convict. I'm not exactly sure of the process to invoke the 25th Amendment is but pretty sure it would require a vote from the very same GOP members who obviously would never vote in favor on enacting the 25th Amendment.

Fwiw the 25th would have required Pence and the majority of the cabinet members or Congress to remove Trump. It would never have happened.

Personally, I tend to find this argument that the Dems didn't do enough akin to blaming victims for a crime.

100% of the blame for Trump goes to the GOP.

I think his argument is more that it's like the Uvalde shooting, where the authorities knew something horrible was going down but sat on their asses for too long before doing anything.

More delay tactics from Trump.  At worst, if the judge agrees the DOJ will file their appeal with the 11th circuit and Trump will have delayed things by another week:

Trump Asks Judge to Keep Blocking F.B.I. From Working With Seized Classified Files

Lawyers for former President Donald J. Trump asked a federal judge on Monday to deny the Justice Department’s request to immediately restart a key of part of its criminal investigation into his hoarding of sensitive government documents at his residence in Florida.

Renewing their request for an expansive independent review of records seized from Mr. Trump, the former president’s legal team argued that seized records marked as classified should remain off limits to the F.B.I. and prosecutors. They asked the judge, Aileen M. Cannon, to maintain her order barring agents from using any of the materials taken from his estate, Mar-a-Lago, until a so-called special master has vetted all of them.

Kim Guilfoyle, just after a bump of coke from Junior. No wonder he left his wife for her.

Personal history from my father's side of my family. My grandfather was a wanderer. My dad wanting to impress his father did the same. Unfortunately for dad, my grandfather liked my aunt better than my dad. He treated her and my cousins better than he did my dad and my brother and I.

So, another son wanting to impress his father does the same thing. At least Kim isn't in soft porn at least as we know. Gavin Newsome was lucky to get rid of her.

Only if the authorities waited because the shooter was their leader and they belonged to his party. The Democrats impeached the mother****er 2x. What else could they have done? I don't get it.

As an aside, who the **** wears golf shoes to fly?

I think that's why there's speculation that he was pulled off the golf course and rushed for an unplanned trip to DC.  Is he meeting with DOJ?  Inquiring minds want to know.
