Came across this commentary from Savita Subramanian, a well-regarded strategist with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and global head of their ESG Division, talking about Biden and impact on the stock market.

One key quote related to Biden and policy:

"This administration is less focused on asset inflation and more on real inflation, in creating jobs and reinvigorating the real economy, rather than just bolstering stock market returns. From listening to this new administration’s rhetoric, they’re not looking at barometers like the S&P 500 index or investment returns as a metric of success or failure. Instead, they’re focused on addressing some of the bigger inequities in the market, like income inequality. That means we’re going to see less-great market returns, but probably a bigger return in the economy overall."

South Dakota GOP introduces legislation that would allow state to nullify Biden executive orders

“The Executive Board of the Legislative Research Council may review any executive order issued by the President of the United States, if the order has not been affirmed by a vote of the Congress of the United States and signed into law, as prescribed by the Constitution of the United States,” the bill’s text reads.

The bill sets up a process for reviewing the president’s executive orders, which would be submitted to the governor and attorney general so that the attorney general could “determine whether the state should seek an exemption” from the order or have it “declared an unconstitutional exercise of legislative authority by the President.”

The bill targets orders that would “restrict a person’s rights,” specifically pointing to orders related to a “pandemic or other public health emergency” and “the regulation of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms,” among other topics.

South Dakota has frequently stood out from national and state governments amid the coronavirus pandemic, with Gov. Kristi Noem opting for a more relaxed public health approach that resisted strict lockdowns and mask mandates.

^^Maybe they should set aside some time to complete the investigation into the SD AG's car accident that killed a pedestrian. It's been 5 months with no movement on the cause of the crash. This article was from December 23, 2020 (100 days) - it's now 148 days & still no answers.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - It’s been more than 100 days, and the investigation into a crash that killed a Highmore man involving South Dakota’s attorney general is still ongoing.

Typically, a crash investigation takes about a month in South Dakota. Out-of-state investigators and South Dakota Highway Patrol released information to the Hyde County State’s Attorney’s Office before Nov. 2.

The lengthy investigation has Gov. Kristi Noem frustrated with the wait.

“I share South Dakotans frustration about the amount of time this has taken,” Noem told Black Hills Fox News Wednesday. “To have more than 100 days go by without resolution on this is a disservice to the victim’s family.”
