After the covid relief Bill everything is gonna come to a screeching halt.  Rep. gonna block everything with the filibuster in the senate.

Actually, the Dems get 2 shots. There was no official budget for 2020; so they can use reconciliation twice. One for 20 and one for 21.

Fence at Capitol blocks DC government from enacting new laws

That foreboding black fence erected around the U.S. Capitol building has had an unintentional side effect: walling off the local government’s ability to enact new laws.

Washington, D.C., city officials say dozens of new local laws have been bottlenecked because of the lockdown of the Capitol building after the violent Jan. 6 attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump. Under terms of the District’s tortured relationship with the federal government, physical paper copies of all new laws must be hand-delivered separately to Senate and House leadership. They cannot be mailed or emailed.

“We are unable to get through the fences. We are trying to find a way to deliver the legislation,” D.C. Council Chair Phil Mendelson said Monday. “Sooner or later, there’s going to be a gate that opens.”

The problem was resolved by Monday afternoon. Nyasha Smith, the secretary of the D.C. Council, told The Associated Press that her office met “off-campus” Monday with a House of Representatives staffer to deliver the documents for House leadership. Last Friday, they did the same with a member of Vice President Kamala Harris’ staff; Harris, as vice president, presides over the Senate.

But D.C. officials say the episode shines a light on the larger issue: the fact that D.C. isn’t a state and needs to run its local laws past Congress in the first place.

Rep. Andy Levin pledges involvement for fossil fuel workers in green energy shift

Rep. Andy Levin on Tuesday stressed that a push by the Biden administration and Congressional Democrats towards clean energy must not ignore the workers whose fossil fuel industry jobs would be displaced.

A union organizer and former assistant director of organizing at the national AFL-CIO, Levin (D-Mich.) said that it's important to let workers who will be affected by the transition know that the shift will be done with their needs in mind. "We're going to build this transition with you, not just do it to you," he said at a POLITICO event on Tuesday.

The sentiment from Levin echoed talking points the Biden administration leaned on last week when it rolled out plans for a clean energy push.

"[President Biden's] record will show — shows the American people that he’s committed to clean-energy jobs — to jobs that are not only good, high-paying jobs, union jobs, but ones that are also good for our environment," White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters at a White House press briefing.

President Biden has promised to deploy 500,000 new public charging stations for electric vehicles by the end of 2030, which Levin said has broad support among Democrats. Last Congress, Levin and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) introduced the EV Freedom Act, legislation that would green-light the creation of a nationwide network of electric vehicle chargers in five years.

They'd better; or else they will lose big in 2022.  As you transition to green energy economy; you have to replace the jobs lost in the old fossil fuel economy with jobs that pay the same or better and is available in the areas that loses the old economy jobs.   If you don't do that; you will not get buy in and the GOP will reap the rewards in 22.

You're just talking media/marketing.

No one cares unless someone tells them to care.

You can sell a green economy to this country in 1,000 different ways, you're just ascribing to the 1 way the GOP will sell it.
