As an aside, you know what it would take to have Dan out tomorrow?  One phone call.  Just one.

 

From Youngkin to Goodell. (Or I suppose Bowser or Hogan I suppose, but those are less likely to come)

 

”Hey Roge, I can get you $600M in public funding and a casino license but I can’t get it done with Dan as the owner.”

 

Rodger calls Robert Kraft and Jerrah.  They call the rest.  The owners meet in special session and vote him out that night.  
 

It would be the last straw.  
 

The NFL knows they need to move out of FedEx.  It’s critical to rebuilding the market. And they want the market rebuilt because there is so much money  here.  
 

No public funding = no new stadium = no Dan.

This is not a blockbuster story.   Well all know that if the story about two books is true or Snyder is guilty of any sexual assault that he would be out.

 

Those handful of owners used the word "if" a lot.    

 

What is actually news here?   Just a few owners going on record stating the obvious?

I get betting on pessimism that Dan will never be kicked out has been the odds on bet so why not keep riding that horse. 
 

You got me what happens. But actual owners talking to the media about counting votes to remove Dan isn’t a same old same old story by a long shot

We get those darn pesky stories all the time for years about owners talking to the media about counting votes to remove Snyder.    🙄

"We are counting votes," one team owner told Jarrett Bell of USA Today, implying that the owners were considered an ouster of Snyder's ownership, which would require 24 votes to force a sale of the organization.

Among the accusations against Snyder and the organization in this latest investigation is that he had two separate accounting systems, with the potential goal of keeping some of the team's earnings out of the NFL's revenue-sharing system.

"If that happened, I think that's the nail in the coffin,” one team owner said of Snyder's ownership.

"For the first time, there's been chatter," another team owner told Bell regarding a potential ouster. "We should really think about doing something if they find something there."

This comes in the wake of a $10 million fine from the NFL in July after its investigation into allegations of a toxic workplace environment within the organization.

 

That punishment—given the 150 people interviewed and detailed instances of sexual harassment, bullying and intimidation, especially toward female employees—was considered incredibly light, even within NFL ownership circles.

"There's a feeling, a sense of disappointment amongst the owners that I talk to—I don't talk to them all, but owners who come to the meetings and are active—that he wasn't suspended," one team owner told Bell. "Disappointment that [commissioner Roger Goodell] did not act stronger."

Don't know.  I'd add Davis though.

 

Read a few times that Dan has two close friends among the owners, Jerry Jones and Woody Johnson.  Plenty have said most of the owners don't like him.

 

But as Sheehan said it has to be more than them just disliking him.  But hopefully there is a strong enough case at this point.    Will see.

Wondering if Emily Dickinson would have been a Patriots fan. We know who Poe would have rooted for.  If only we'd named ourselves the Washington Whalers....Melville would have been ours.

Poe might have been taken by the Commanders because of their Richmond training camps.

Do you really need Jarett Bell or Florio to tell you that owners were talking about getting rid of Snyder if those allegations are true?
