Nerm
I am pretty skeptical of the idea of terraforming any planet in our solar system. It is such a large scale project that I have trouble thinking that better options will not exist that can be implemented with less cost/effort. I think there is some potential for building very large enclosed colonies in lava tubes, which recent studies suggest can be massive on Mars.

I think Bill Nye's take on the situation was that our efforts would be best put towards keeping this planet habitable before we start thinking about trying to terraform other planets. 1
Renegade7
This planet could wipe us out without trying or it even being our fault. Our species should have long and short term goals in regards to our survival, we are on borrowed time in this solar system.

And have done next to nothing to curb climate change. Point being, sure we can get some stuff done without it being wildly popular. But we’d do so much more if it wasn’t for the shortcomings of our society.

It's just so...so what, Ya know? Private sector has made clear they will try to monetize space, that was only way it was going to work, and our species is coming along for the ride now whether we like it or not. Once one of them commits to mining on the moon, gravity will take care of itself. There's an asteroid up there with enough gold and platinum to collapse the commodities market. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews.com/science/nasa-headed-towards-giant-golden-asteroid-that-could-make-everyone-on-earth-a-billionaire.amp This isn't fighting our nature, that is our nature. We might as well learn how to do it here to stop the damage that already doesn't need us anymore to keep going. Greenland already hit the tipping point, now what? This on top of the earth's climate showing it's changes multiple times before we even showed up. Instead of changing our climate we may have to have the serious conversation on how to regulate it best we can for as long as we can.

Instead of changing our climate we may have to have the serious conversation on how to regulate it best we can for as long as we can. So now the glacial mel****er disrupts the ocean currents (e.g. the gulf stream) disrupting weather so that the planet actually cools and we get another ice age. It's a cyclical process. Right now we're nearing the end of one of the rapid warming periods that precedes a long cooling period: Manmade contributions to global warming/climate change are only serving to accelerate a process that would happen naturally anyway. As you said the best we can do is to try to regulate it and ourselves to slow it down rather than accelerate it. Keep the earth climate in the livable zone we prefer for as long as possible. PleaseBlitz
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/09/14/venus-life-evidence/ Scientists spot potential sign of life in Venus atmosphere Quote An international team of astronomers has detected a rare molecule in the atmosphere of Venus that could be produced by living organisms, according to a study published Monday. The discovery instantly puts the brightest object in the night sky back into the conversation about where to search for extraterrestrial life. The researchers made clear this is not a direct detection of life on Venus. But the astronomical observations confirmed the highly intriguing presence of the chemical phosphine near the top of the acidic clouds that blanket the planet. Phosphine is a simple molecule produced on Earth by bacteria and through industrial processes, and otherwise is not naturally occurring. As a result, it is on the list of molecules -- oxygen being another -- considered by scientists to be potential “biosignatures” of life on Earth-sized planets whose atmospheres can be viewed through telescopes. The researchers said they know of no non-biological explanation for the relatively high abundance of the molecule in the Venusian atmosphere. “We did our very best to show what else would be causing phosphine in the abundance we found on Venus. And we found nothing. We found nothing close,” said Clara Sousa-Silva, a molecular astrophysicist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a co-author of the paper published Monday in the journal Nature Astronomy. PokerPacker
Take it with a grain of salt. What's natural on that hellish planet isn't what's natural on Earth. As much as I'd love to discover alien life even if microbial, I'm gonna assume this is just another chemical process in the dense Venusian atmosphere.

China
The Sun Just Woke Up. ‘Space Weather’ Feared After Weakest Cycle In 100 Years Ends, Says NASA The Sun has begun a new cycle. Experts from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said Tuesday that our star has begun Solar Cycle 25 after an uptick in activity on its surface. It follows a deep “solar minimum” in late 2019, with NASA and NOAA reporting that Solar Cycle began in December 2019. They also said that our Sun will be at its strongest of this new cycle in 2025. Fan since a Fetus
Well if 2020 gets renewed for five more seasons, that picture of the sun will be very similar to that of earth in 2025.
China
NASA video: Mysterious 'space orb following' ISS sends UFO enthusiasts wild A NASA live camera stream on the International Space Station captured a mysterious sighting, when a bright white orb was spotted racing past the camera in the distance. In the footage, the UFO can be seen moving upwards, past the ISS, before suddenly fading away. The UFO is round and appears to be moving rapidly - approximately 27,000 km per hour according to Scott Waring, from UFO Sightings Daily. The footage was uploaded by Mr Waring, who said: "The total time was about 40+ min but I sped up the video 4X to save you time. "Strange that it matches speeds with the ISS. Also, strange there was no audio chat." Click on the link for video

CousinsCowgirl84
That’s pretty cool as long as there is no impact which doesn’t seem to be the case... Looks like it might be a rocket booster Paul Chodas of the Jet Propulsion Laboratorysuspects 2020 SO of being the Surveyor 2Centaur rocket booster, launched on September 20, 1966.[6] The Earth-like orbit and low relative velocity suggest a possible man-made object. Spectroscopy may help determine if it is covered in titanium dioxidepaint. 1
