Warhead36
For as much as we can trash Davey, he pushed all the right buttons afterwards. Put Stras in early. Threw out all the PHs. Had Stevenson PR for Zimm. 2

Bacon
I'm so mad at myself for only following this game through this thread until the 9th because I was being sulky. Oh well, we've got at least three more! ****ING GO NATS Edited October 2, 2019 by Bacon
Voice_of_Reason
37 minutes ago, Voice_of_Reason said: A little story: in game 7 of the 2001 World Series, The Yankees were leading the diamondbacks going into the 9th with Mariano Rivera coming up, aka “the hammer of God.” Rivera is basically untouchable. Craig Cousell, manager of the Brewers was part of the greatest rally against Rivera. There was a broken bat single, and then Counsell got hit by a pitch to load the bases before Louis Gonzalez won the game with a bloop single. So, it can happen against great closers. That might be the best sporting event I’ve ever seen. Broken bat single. Check. Hit Batsman. Check. Bloop single to win the game? Check. Counsell must be experiencing deja vu. (Though the diamondbacks win in game 7 against the Yankees in 2001 was a bit more meaningful than a wildcard game.)

We shouldn't even be here having this convo, that's my focus, such a big deal to finally get the monkey off our back as a franchise

Hopefully Stras is good to go for Game 2 which would be Friday. Might have to tag team with Sanchez. Then Scherz for Game 3, hopefully some redemption.

Sanchez has been very good. Better to have Strass on regular rest. And at home. Redemption for what? 3 runs wasn’t that terrible. Warhead36
Anyone who says DC is a bad sports town is a freaking moron. Give us something to cheer and we'll represent. But don't ask us to cheer for trash like the Skins and Wiz.

And pitching him game 2 means he could pitch in a theoretical game 5 on normal rest.
