2019 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION Washington Nationals Thread (Strasburg has re-signed, 7 yrs $245m))

Recommended Posts

As a former Marlins fan that used to watch them play against the Expos (including while FP was there), that will be weird, even with them retaining all records and such.

Would they ever wear Washington Senators throwbacks?

(Here's Ted Williams in the old Nats uni:)

They've worn Homestead Grays throwbacks before.  Here's Zimm sporting the look:

no no no no no - what tone deaf person thought this was a good idea? Where are the old Senator jerseys?

They've worn the Walter Johnson throwbacks back in 2010 and 2012. They wore the 1920 and 1924 jerseys, respectively. They were pretty sweet.

I don't have a problem with this. We have Expos in our ring--it's part of our history.

I don't know...  as a one-time thing I think its pretty cool.  The Expos had pretty good uniforms, and had a lot of interesting history with fun players that are far too often forgotten.  I think it is reasonable to embrace that to some degree.

And they're wearing the old powder blues.

Also, I bet FP has some excellent old Expos stories.  Should make for a fun broadcast...

If Tampa goes to Montréal full time. I hope they become the Expos and claim their history. Don't mean that in a mean way.

I don't mind one Expos throwback in the meantime. But would like to see each Senators uni once a year first.

I love Soto, but he plays outfield like a first baseman...

That was really annoying watching the two parents on their phone ignoring the game with their little kids trying to get their phones from them.  If there was ever a living example of kids doing as their parents, it was that.

Zimm gonna ride the bench until someone needs a day off.

How can you argue him playing over Adams, Howie or Dozier.

Late inning defensive replacement, definitely.

Another excellent start from Corbin. I hope his top form is back for good.

I also want to highlight that my man Tony tied the game up in the clutch, as is his way. I own one Nats jersey and it's his. I'll wear it proudly even if he leaves, but I'll pop some champagne if we give him an extension. He and Max are my favorite players in baseball for sure.

This inning is very Nats bullpen-esque. You love to see it happen to someone else.

Dave is savage tonight.

Charlie: "...and we'll get the attendance for tonight"

Dave, sarcastically: "it shouldn't be that hard to count."

Victor Robles is going to have a long career that is going to be a lot of fun to watch.  Dude has special range.

I'm so afraid that Dooooo is going to be used up by the ASG.

EDIT:  Phew.  Far, far too close for comfort.
