I wouldn’t take that deal. It just kicks the bucket three years down the road, playing games with those people’s lives

100%.

Easy Dem counter is permanent protection across the board with full citizenship for $5.7 billion in border security funds.

Also, passing of HR1.  If Trump passes DREAM Act and HR1, give him his 5 billion.

Hell, give him 10 billion.

End the F-35 program and we come out ahead on costs, while getting two huge victories, and it's not like the wall would get built with that money anyway.  Total costs will probably be 50B if not more, repair costs per year would be huge, and not to mention, Trump has no plan to actually build the thing.  No contractors, no sourcing, no nothing.  He'll get his money, throw a party, and then waste all the money laundering it to about 200 people, with, if he's lucky, some number of miles in the double digits being completed of the wall.

Does what Trump says really matter?  No reason to believe he would make good on anything he promises or wouldn’t change his mind tomorrow.

This 3 year DACA extension in exchange for money for a wall that will cost way more and will mostly never be built is a garbage deal anyway.

That's just it, Trump doesn't hold the keys to this situation, Nancy Pelosi does.

Yeah ok lol.  They could have passed this in the first two years of his administration but somehow wait til the democrats take one house to "blame" them. If you don't understand this is a game, ive got news for you

Another reason why temporary DACA protection is a crappy deal is that SCOTUS passed on adding on the DACA case to this term's docket (deadline was this Friday).  Meaning, even if SCOTUS overturns the 9th Circuit DACA ruling, it will be next term at the earliest, which begins in October 2019.  Even if DACA case is one of the first heard and it gets overturned, you're likely looking at end of 2019 or early 2020 as the earliest point at which SCOTUS rules on DACA.  Now all the sudden, Trump admin is saddled with the DACA issue heading into the election.

In essence, he's offering to tack on two more years of status quo to an issue that they may end up avoiding in 2020 anyway.  Is mass deportation of Dreamers really going to be the white house priority on an election year?  Can't think of much else that would crystalize everything that is wrong with the Trump presidency leading up to the election.  It's a BS deal.

I gjve props to Trump for blinking. Pelosi's counter should be BRIDGE with path to citizenship, $2.0 in border security and no wall.

This at least moves the conversation along.

She should do that, because he is already getting burned by the right for what he gave in this speech, which is not much. He really ****ed up listening to Coulter and Limbaugh, or perhaps it goes back to his original lie that he never had a chance on delivering.
