Mexico doesn’t give billions to our defense industry which seems to be the only reason we really tolerate them.

But also Mexico didn’t fund the only nuclear weapons program belonging To a radical Islamist country. Mexico also doesn’t have decades of support to an extremist ideology that has led to terrorism across multiple continents.

Cowgirl doing her usual act of drawing false equivalencies is nothing surprising.

actually, you didn't get the point of my post.

Meh.

The point was that not only is this further proof of how stupid a wall is (border defense is needed and should be created with cutting edge tech that isn't a standing monument to Trump), this is proof to another post after of how quickly Trump jumps to defend a nation he probably is in major debt to. If this were any other Muslim nation. Watch out.

ok, but not relevant to the post you were replying too.

funny that Mexico allows the pushing drugs into the country, is unable to end corruption that allows violent cartels to flourish, and is all for open US boarders, just don’t ask them to allow the migrants to stay there.

All of this is of course irrelevant to whether or not both liberals and republicans act differently to different groups to appeal to their base, but there is zero evidence that Mexico is a better ally than Saudi Arabia.

Both countries are strategically important to the United States and both countries do things we like and do things we don’t like...

California man arrested after posting videos online of mass shooting practice

A San Diego County man is in police custody after posting graphic videos on YouTube where he appeared to be practicing a mass shooting, police said.

Steven Homoki, 30, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of possession of an assault weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine and child endangerment, San Diego police said in a statement Friday.

Authorities received a tip about Homoki, of Spring Valley, California, on Monday, concerning videos he posted online. The tipster reportedly said Homoki had "gone off the deep end" and said he had a "plan" in place, according to NBC San Diego.

In the videos, Homoki is seen in a San Diego hotel room with several guns, magazines and bullets. The video, obtained by NBC San Diego, appears to shows Homoki loading the guns, crawling on a bullet-strewn floor, loading guns and pointing the weapons at pedestrians out the window.

In one moment, Homoki pulls the trigger on an unloaded rifle pointed at pedestrians and says, "One down, more to go."

"You drop one mag, you pick up another, right? Then you pick up another. ... Then you drop it, you drop the gun, pick up another gun," Homoki said under his breath on the video, which seems to be recorded from a body camera.

Mexico doesn’t allow it, they just can’t stop it because of the massive amount of US dollars flowing in to keep it propped up.  They’ve torn down several cartels, but when billions pour in there is always another to take its place.  Americans essentially fund massive terrorist groups across Latin America for entertainment.  America is not a victim of cartels, American money is what springs them into being.

@Destino while it is true there wouldn’t be supply without demand, there is a lot more Mexico could be doing to end the corruption and drugs entering their own country.  While it is true we could do a lot in this country to curb gun violence and allowing extremists to gain access to guns and improve security there is a lot more Saudi Arabia could be doing to curb the spread of Islamic extremists.

Officers shot -- at least one fatally -- in 'active shooter situation' in Jersey City, officials say

At least one police officer was fatally shot and multiple others wounded during a standoff in Jersey City, New Jersey, on Tuesday, authorities said.

Jean Jadezaia, a spokeswoman for the Hudson County Sheriff's Office, had described the scene as an "active shooter situation."

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez tweeted one police officer suffered fatal wounds.

Two other officers and one civilian were in stable condition after being struck by gunfire, the prosecutor wrote.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop Mayor said multiple people -- including the officer -- had died inside a building. Fulop tweeted that three other officers were injured.

Fulop on Tuesday afternoon described the scene as "active but secure."

The officer who was killed is believed to have been ambushed, according to a law enforcement source.

Two suspects were among the dead inside the building, the source added.

Let me start by saying that I consider that Ben Shapiro a living breathing argument in favor of bullies that target smarmy know-it-all nerds.  I would like him to be wrong on his guess that this will not lead to a national conversation on anti semitism.   It seems to be on the rise all over the western world.

Also, Black Hebrew Israelites should not be so tolerated that they feel comfortable just posting up on any public street and shouting out their hate.  Yet I’ve seen them far too often in my life doing just that.  Why do they get a pass?  Are they getting permits for their little metro entrance hate shows?

I think most people just assume they are insane. It took me a while to realize they were a group and not just shouting random words.

no one has done anything about it.

Just not true. Democrats have passed bills. McConnell and the Republicans refuse to bring the bills up for votes. They also fail to generate alternative strategies. This is a one side stinks issue. Even on the issues Republicans claim is we should focus on, Republicans either do nothing or cause harm. For example, the Republicans say the real problem is mental health not guns, but they not only don't support mental health programs they severely cut funding for mental health.

Republicans reject any attempt to curb gun violence.

House Passes Sweeping Gun Bill

https://www.npr.org/2019/02/27/698512397/house-passes-most-significant-gun-bill-in-2-decades

The House passed what advocates call the most significant gun control measure in more than two decades on Wednesday when it approved the first of two bills aimed at broadening the federal background check system for firearms purchases.

The vote on the first bill, dubbed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, passed largely along party lines 240 to 190 with Democrats who control the House cheering as they carried the legislation across the finish line.

A second bill, expected to be taken up Thursday, would extend the period federal authorities have to complete a background check before a gun sale can go through. Under current law, if a check isn't finalized in three business days, the transaction can automatically proceed.

House Democrats hope the swift passage of the companion bills will put pressure on the Senate to act. The National Rifle Association opposes the legislation, and it faces major headwinds in the Republican-controlled Senate.
