Damn Canadians and theys socialism. 🤣

Ironically, it’s a couple of Russian dudes in the grey market. The government licensed cannabis stores are over priced…. well, they sell weed at the price people were paying when it was illegal $35-40 for an 1/8th. But since people can legally grow 3-4 plants here… why pay that price. So “grey” sellers just grow their own and sell…. And deliver…. with free gifts (1/8ths, pre rolls, lighters, papers/filters, etc).

Weed is the cheapest thing you can buy here now… inflation is killing us and the housing crisis is a nightmare. People are leaving this country… and immigrants are going back home. Weed is a great coping mechanism. 🤣🤣

How about they just legalize it at the federal level already. Instead they lump it into a drug category with ketamine and anabolic steroids. 🙄

Hell schedule four drugs include somas, Valium, and Xanax. Federal government still saying cannabis has more potential for abuse than those drugs is ridiculous.

US Congressmember Introduces “Stop Pot Act” to Withhold Funds from Legal Marijuana States and Tribes

Filed by North Carolina Congressman Chuck Edwards, the Stop Pot Act would withhold federal funding from states and tribes that have legalized recreational marijuana.

“The laws of any government should not infringe on the overall laws of our nation, and federal funds should not be awarded to jurisdictions that willfully ignore federal law”, Edwards said in a press statement. “During a time when our communities are seeing unprecedented crime, drug addiction, and mental illness, the Stop Pot Act will help prevent even greater access to drugs and ease the strain placed on our local law enforcement and mental health professionals who are already stretched thin.”

Specifically the proposal would withhold 10% of federal highway funds from states and tribes that violate the federal Controlled Substances Act, which currently considers marijuana a schedule 1 drug, putting it in the same category as heroin and making it illegal for all purposes.

Introduction of the bill comes shortly after the US Department of Health sent a letter to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requesting that marijuana be rescheduled from schedule 1 to schedule III, effectively legalizing it for prescription use across the nation.

Not to toot my own horn but the product made with the assistance of a few puffs is something to behold I think.  Put me in the right mindset.

Remember when on here, two people would start opposing threads where one was getting over on the other, etc.  That was hilarious.  People should bring that back (not me).

my understanding is that the law requires the formation of different groups, that are supposed to create the rules do the whole recreational sales part. As well as issuing permits for manufacturing, distribution, and sales. As all three are separated. They followed the ABC model.

and he’s holding up the staffing of the groups or their ability to meet, so there are no rules. So it can’t move forward.

i think jan 1 2024 was supposed to be the start of recreational sales. But that requires what is now basically a years worth of work to happen, that hasn’t really started.

at this point it seems rather obvious it’ll have to wait until dems are in charge, and it’s probably a year or two out from that point.

A landmark marijuana bill is headed to the Senate floor

The Senate Banking Committee approved a historic marijuana banking bill last week that breaks barriers between financial institutions and cannabis companies.

The Secure and Fair Enforcement Regulation (SAFER) Banking Act, which aims to resolve a longstanding financial deadlock that forced cannabis-related companies to operate using only cash, will now make its way to the Senate floor. Iterations of this bill have been presented in committee since 2015, but this is the first time the bill has received a yes vote and made its way to the Senate at large.

As the marijuana market flourishes across the US, federal legal ambiguity has hindered its full potential, making transactions an all-cash, risky affair.

The legislative road ahead is tough, despite the bipartisan majority in committee, but this bill could redefine the business of marijuana.

Before the Bell spoke with Senator Jeff Merkley, a Democrat from Oregon and a sponsor of the bill, about what comes next.

TSA finds marijuana in woman’s adult diaper at airport checkpoint

The Transportation Security Administration says marijuana was discovered in a woman's adult diaper at an airport checkpoint.

The incident happened recently at LaGuardia Airport in New York.

TSA Spokesperson Lisa Farbstein posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that a checkpoint scanner alerted agents to the woman's groin area resulting in a patdown.

The marijuana was found concealed in a diaper she was wearing.

Marijuana Use Dramatically Increases Risk of Heart Problems, Stroke

Regularly using marijuana can significantly increase a person’s risk of heart attack, heart failure, and stroke, according to a pair of new studies that will be presented at a major upcoming medical conference.

People who use marijuana daily have a 34% increased risk of heart failure, compared to people who don’t use the drug, according to one of the new studies.

The new findings leverage health data from 157,000 people in the National Institutes of Health “All of Us” research program. Researchers analyzed whether marijuana users were more likely to experience heart failure than non-users over the course of nearly 4  years. The results said that coronary artery disease was behind marijuana users’ increased risk. (Coronary artery disease is the buildup of plaque on the walls of the arteries that supply blood to the heart.)

Exploding marijuana-infused cider drinks recalled in Michigan

Nearly 15,000 cans of marijuana-infused cider drinks have been recalled in Michigan amid reports they have a propensity to explode.

“A single batch of Armada Cannabis Co. Cannabis Apple Cider (20mg THC) is being recalled because the products were not compliantly produced and there have been reports of cans swelling and bursting,” a Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) recall notice said. “This is attributable to the lack of a necessary ingredient to ensure shelf stability.”

“We received two reports, both from retailers, zero from consumers,” said CRA spokesman David Harns.

The CRA said nearly 7,300 cans were sold to consumers between Oct. 11 and Nov. 1 at more than 75 stores across Michigan. The cans in question list a Jan. 2 expiration date. A full list of the stores and product ID numbers are listed in the CRA recall notice.

What you need to know before a ‘tolerance break’ from marijuana use

When your tolerance for marijuana goes up, often usage does, too.

That’s a problem many regular users of cannabis products are facing, and some are turning to “T-breaks,” or tolerance breaks, in hopes of getting back to the same high at lower doses. Current research, however, isn’t definitive on whether temporarily abstaining effectively works to recalibrate the body for the desired effect, according to an August study.

Ohio recently became the 24th state to approve legal recreational marijuana use, joining Minnesota, Delaware and Colorado, among others. Despite the fact that cannabis remains federally illegal, the conversation around safe adult usage is ongoing as voters continue to open access at the state level.

With marijuana use putting people at greater risk for bad health outcomes such as heart attack and stroke, reducing usage may sound like a good idea, said Dr. Robert Page, a professor of clinical pharmacy and physical medicine/rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Aurora. But T-breaks come with certain risks, especially when it comes to withdrawal symptoms, he said.

Page spoke to CNN about tolerance breaks and whether or not they are a sound strategy.
