It should be focused on Luke because according to Yoda in ROTJ, Last of the Jedi he will be... (when Yoda is gone).

But, Jedi could be plural and it could mean Luke and Rey (IF she becomes a Jedi). I"m hoping Disney has some balls (not getting my hopes up) and Kylo ends up being the good guy and Rey becomes evil.   Its too predictable at this point.  Disney has an open slate and they've thus far done nothing new.  I'm really hoping this is the movie that changes it.

I'd love for Rey to turn dark.  But Disney won't do it.  They view her as a role model for young girls and they would probably fear it would hurt toy sales.

Definitely a movie that had to be enjoyed as a kid first.

Personally..I like the title but who does it refer to? Luke? Rey? Someone else?

I'm suspecting a lot of the movie will focus on Luke's isolation on Ahch-To...

Keep in mind Luke has been referred to multiple times as the last Jedi as well as Jedi bring both singular and plural. I am the last Jedi, they are the last Jedi, etc.

That would suck

I swear if they do this like they did Force Awakens, I am done.

The more I think about it, this title blows.

In Abrams new Star Wars world, everyone is a ****ing jedi.  You don't have to train or know ****.  If you find a lightsaber in a pile of burning leaves, you can take on The Empire!  You can be a confused woman and hold your own against the guy who gutted an entire unit of badasses by himself!  It's movie magic!

**** you JJ Abrams.

I think there is more to Rey than we know. She's probably a trained Jedi who's got some kind of amnesia or something. Or the circumstances of her birth give her exceptional Force affinity at a young age even without training.

I'm sure there's something more to Rey as well.  A Jedi with amnesia is about the stupidest plot line I've ever heard.  Just say it out loud one time.  This is Star Wars, not General ****ing Hospital.

Man why do you guys hurt me.

1) Rey clearly has some type of training.  She showed excellent hand to hand combat throughout the movie. And the force was awakened in her when she touched the light saber. It was calling out to her the entire time, obviously she was susceptible to it and finally embraced it. Also, a popular theory is that she had Jedi training at a young age at the academy before Kylo killed everyone.

2) Kylo wasn't trying to kill her, he wanted to recruit her. He was toying with her mostly. We saw him freeze her earlier in the movie. If he really wanted to he could have done that and killed her. But he was arrogant and wanted to play with her and underestimated her and the power that had awoken in her

3) the dude was shot right in the stomach by Chewies crossbow which blows up everything else it connects with in the movie. He took that L and was bleeding everywhere. Broken, slightly traumatized after just murdering his father and then shot ...he wasn't at 100% in a fight he wasnt trying to outright win

its not inconceivable or a big deal. I mean Luke twirled a light saber for 5 Minutes before he was out flying Vader/Anakin in the Death Star trenches and harnessing the power of the force to nail 1 in a million shots. But that was ok.

And then he listened to a puppet talk in code for a few days while doing some Hand stands and he can go toe to toe with Vader in a lightsaber duel.

Haha!  Et Tu Alvin? :ols:

But seriously, Luke had Obi Wan in his ear.  And he had the lightsaber training scene on the Millenium Falcon.  There was at least some order to the process.  What about your boy Finn?  He have amnesia too?  He get some lightsaber training at Storm Trooper camp?

I'm not saying your theories are wrong.  They sound very plausible.  But that doesn't mean they're not weak as hell. :)

The lightsaber training scene? Luke got his ass shot like 5 times before finally blocking one shot then took off the helmet and called it a day. He got his ass handed to him, literally knocked unconscious by the sand people. Contrast that with Rey who was kicking ass from the jump.

And Obi in his ear? Rey was hearing two different Obi wans, Luke and Yoda in her ear and she never met a single one of them. She is extremely force sensitive

as for my boy Finn. He had 5 minutes of lightsaber training when he was fighting storm troopers when the First Order attacked the bar place. That's clearly good enough for Luke. Did Luke even turn his lightsaber on again before fighting Darth Vader? Oh yeah after he got his ass kicked again by a polar bear.

Really though, Finn probably had significant hand to hand combat training. The storm trooper he fought had that electric sword thing so he probably trained with at least some. Also, he gets destroyed by Kylo Ren easily. All he manages to do is nick his arm and mostly he just terrifyingly tris to block Rens swing.  He doesn't belong in that fight and is clearly outclassed

:rofl89:This is the kinda stuff that lets me know I'm in a deep, nerd convo.

To each his own.  I'm hoping the new film is darker and takes itself more seriously.  TWA felt like fanboy porn to me.

Didn't Finn two piece him as well? Gump ass. He's a Skywalker. He should be used to fighting without legs, hands, arms and ****.

Bet this one starts with him being sent down to the Sith D-League

@AlvinWaltonIsMyBoyI accept that lol

TFA definitely played it safe. I think it had to. It was tasked with ushering in a new generation of fans, reddeming the brand and making SW fun again after the prequels and satisfying the traditions of the OT while also setting up a new trilogy story and characters.

I think it did that fairly well.

I also hope VIII is a darker more serious movie. The second story in trilogies usually are. as they are the entry that expands the story the most and sets up the stakes for the finale.

I know another lightsaber that is calling out to her. When she finally touches and embraces it, the force and a lot more will be awakened.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of Finn either.  Thought his character was kinda racist.  Only black storm trooper in the galaxy, and the first time we see him he quits his job and then steals a piece of company property on his way out. :ols:

The Sith D-League is genius.  I would watch that movie for sure.
