There is no super disease coming that will dent the population problem and wars have gotten less bloody and less likely. Resource scarcity will not create wars because those that will starve will be the weakest and less able to do anything about it. Perhaps a surge in terrorism but certainly no global wars. The weapons of this day in such a war will wipe out population and set areas back. Worst fear scenario, some entities decide to fix things on their own and disaster happens (Umbrella Corp).
