Is our problem that we generate stud after stud and then let them go? Or is it we don't generate stud after stud. I think its the later. With 12 draft picks, i think we are moving in the right direction. We've never had enough picks or where we were good enough IMO talent evaluators where our problem was generating talent but just losing them, once in awhile yeah but mostly IMO its us not generating talent period.

He's a weapon, but IMO he will only be a weapon as a punt returner. I think with the rule changes his kickoff return ability will be limited and at his size he will never develop into a contributor at receiver. When we have so many needs, its more than fair to question holding a valuable roster spot for a limited player. That's BEFORE you even mention his off the field issues.

Banks is no doubt an exciting return man, but long-term I think he only can stay in the punt return role. At his size & with the new rules he will be far less effective as a kickoff return man IMO. Niles Paul probably isn't as good, but if you could get a kick & punt returner in addition, a special teams coverage guy, and a receiver prospect, doesn't it make sense to keep that guy over Banks? And that's just the football part of it. If he truly is a problem in the locker room then he has to go. Its like a closer in baseball. Its a nice thing to have but it shouldn't be the priority for a rebuilding team.

Look, I'm not saying cut Banks this second, but if Paul shows good return skills as well wouldn't it make more sense to keep the player who can contribute on all aspect of teams and still develop into a receiver? And Banks was good last year, but lets not act like he's Hester. Let him prove it some more before we put him in Canton.

The question isn't what does Banks bring to the table as a WR, it's who gives us the best chance to win any given Sunday. I'd rather take 80% of what Banks brings to the table as a returner AND 150% of what he brings as a receiver than Banks.

You all act as if Banks is a horrible WR. I still remember that shot Banks took in the Titans game. That showed me a lot.

Brandon Lloyd has done a personal turnaround, which he should be commended for. but he was nowhere close to a weapon much less a starter while he was here.

He is too small and per the article may have a crappy attitude, BUT he is the only player that gave me even a few minutes of something to cheer about last year in and otherwise horrible season. For that, he get my cautious approval

I think Banks could be a huge weapon in the passing game as well. Get him the ball in space and utilize WR screens and he could definitly contribute. Seems like alot of folks have just given up on him this year. Paul, Robinson gotta prove they got half the explosiveness of Banks before I even consider them better options. The pre season will tell I guess.

he was cut last year in preseason too. if he fumbles the ball too many times this year i can see it happen. we have austin and others who can do the job

The thing is if Paul is a explosive returner and potential speedster WR we need we need to keep him. I love Banks and he brought me to the edge of my seat evey return and many times me and my family would be cheering for him to save us but we have to be fair. Your talking about a WR vs a KO specialist. If Paul can catch and return he kills two birds with one stone.

Part of it was Lloyd not putting in the work needed to be a great receiver. (a problem a lot of young receivers have.) It didn't help that he got paid, which was a disincentive for him to apply himself. The FO misjudged his maturity level.
