DCchillin89
Hard to be clutch when you play John Wall's game and your prize FA backup only logs five... He needs help or this is gonna be an accumulating problem as the season goes on. Grunfeld did a good job of tricking everyone for about 5 games or so, the depth on this team is as thin as ever. Maynor is playing the worst basketball in the association right now I'm pretty sure

Going Commando
Seraphin is the one who set that "pick"? That dude is absolutely useless. Remember when he came into the league and was setting bone jarring picks? He is as soft as it gets now.

Rocky21
I'd like to think we could win without Beal, Webster and Nene but I guess that's too much to ask. I heard Beal was going to start practicing again but what's the timeline on Webster and Nene? Anybody know?
nuposse87
Come Dec 15 EG needs to trade Maynor+Seraphin+ future 2nd to GSW for Speights (who has fallin off there). Trade another future 2nd for the rights to Pierre Jackson to NOL...........And go from there. That HAS to be an improvement. The problem with the bench is the guys on there suck so bad that even moderately sucky bench players (JAN) dip down to their level.
DCchillin89
Contenders have very good to at least competant bench players. There is a drop off in talent when the starters are out, but not a huge one. With this team, the disparity in ability between starters and the bench is always enormous. When has this team ever had a serviceable bench?
Destino
Contenders have very good to at least competant bench players. There is a drop off in talent when the starters are out, but not a huge one. With this team, the disparity in ability between starters and the bench is always enormous. When has this team ever had a serviceable bench? Webster, Harrington, and Porter were supposed to provide a scoring punch for the bench. Webster is out and thanks to Beal's injury was starting prior to that. Harrington has missed essentially the entire season. Porter has failed to do anything other than look terrified. Maynor who was supposed to pass them the ball hasn't been able to do anything. Lost in all this is the fact that Wittmans ****ty offense has failed to adjust. He's still trying to force Maynor into a high PnR drive to the rim role and he's clearly not suited for it. This team doesn't move the ball much because it's entirely up to the players to do it. It's not programmed in and too many guys are standing still in the half court.
RonArtest15
This team is a MEDIOCRE bench away from playing over .500 basketball. Let that sink in. EG has to do something.
DCchillin89
Porter played one summer league game and missed basically all team activity for 3 months with whatever ailment he had. A contingency plan should have been developed for him, while he was out and while he was playing catchup. Harrington, a high mileage 33 year old whom nobody wanted, who missed basically all of last season, who was signed in August for the vet minimum, was supposed to be the "scoring punch?" And he's missed basically all of this season and is having surgery. Who woulda thought that would happen? I'll give you webster. He's the only legit bench player in washington. Otherwise, it's a dumpster fire. Not to mention our prized FA acquisition who is not even in the rotation, while we passed up on Jamal Crawford, Nate Wolters, Kendal Marshall and a player like Nate Robinson who was signed for a comparable amount as Maynor Edited December 10, 2013 by DCchillin89
Going Commando
It was Booker, not Seraphin Ugh. That bothers me more. Booker used to set hard picks too and be a hard nosed player. The hell happened to these guys?

Going Commando
Big picture, we're not going to contend for a few years because Wall and Beal aren't ready to carry a contender. And no move short of falling into a blue chip player like KD will change that. We're going to have to wait until those two guys are ready. This is the sixth year of Roy Hibbert's career and it's the first time his team has looked like a true blue contender. These things take forever to build when you have to do it via draft and development of homegrown stars. Our window with Wall is about a decade long from now. Goal #1 for that time frame is to find another perennial All Star for him to play with because that's the foundation of true contention. Beal is our best bet, by far, because he's already a Wizard. So now our goal is facilitating the development of those two guys every way we can. Got to keep them healthy. Got to find players that can do their jobs to put around them so that Wall and Beal can then go and do their own jobs. Got to start making the playoffs so those two can learn playoff basketball. But we don't have to try and win 50 games this year. If we get a three seed, that's wonderful. Maybe we'll make it out of the first round in that case. But it's not necessary. The last two losses were really disappointing because I wanted that three seed bad. I want them to make the playoffs and have home court and have a chance to make the second round. Probably not going to happen, so it helps to look at the big picture every now and then. Also, big picture, Porter, Beal, and Wall are the only guys on the team now that should be on the team in five years. We have to be really smart about Porter's development. We can't afford to **** it up with him.

Remember how guys like Ed Davis beat him out? That problem has been rectified and then some. This year's edition of the list is out, and Wall has soared all the way to fifth. The four players ahead of Wall? In order: Anthony Davis, Paul George, Andre Drummond and James Harden. Notable players behind Wall? Blake Griffin and Kyrie Irving. How about that?

Destino
If Wall had a better coach (offensive system) and a true second star to play with he'd be an absolute monster. Beal might one day be a second star but star means creating your own shots and he's not there yet. Defenses because of this terrible offensive design and because of a lack of a second ball handler can really key in on John Wall.

Going Commando
As long as CP3 is around, I can't put anybody else at #1. Wall is putting his name in the mix though. Yeah CP3 is the best. The only guy who played better than him was Derrick Rose in 2011. But that player is long gone. Then it's probably Tony P and Steph Curry in some order for second and third. They're. Brilliant offensive players, better than Wall. But to be fair, Wall is a bigger defensive presence than both. Wall has the biggest impact defensively at PG in the league when he's dialed in. He dominates dudes physically like a forward, something that Curry/Paul/Kyrie/Parker simply can't do. Wall is climbing the overall ranks. He's easily the best PG in the East right now. You can make a strong case for him being fourth overall this season.
