Brooks was supposed to be a defensive coach!  Why did they need to go out and get a specialist, and why get a guy that lead a historically bad defense?  Did they ask Jay Gruden how to shore up the defensive coaching staff, because hires like that were his thing.

Random, but Moe Wagner ****in SUCKS...........Dude is HORRIBLE.........SO tired of him. We don't have a big man on our D-League team that can replace that bum??

Offensively he has been a pleasant surprise. Defensively, he is basura. He takes pride in taking charges because he cant do anything else on that end of the floor. He's been better than Thomas Bryant this year, and worth keeping around as a bench piece

Man, they created positions out of thin air, the guy in charge may have been here, but how they do things now is completely different.

I'm convinced Brooks wasnt fired to keep from their being too much upheaval at one time and because Ted doesnt like paying folks he fired anymore then Polin did.

How do we know they are doing things completely different? I see an overpay in Bryant and a commitment to keep Bertans and a future overpay with him for a team that sucks at defense and is 15 games under .500. There is a commitment to keeping a core that has never been a title contender.

I was never aware of this reputation. OKC certainly wasn't a defensive squad under him.

I suspect they said it because because compared to his ability to create an offense, his defensive schemes were more substantive.  Virtually no play calling, no set movement, almost no off ball screening... his offense is little more than motivational cliches and hope that his players can make a play.  Worked ok with Westbrook and Durant, two MVP caliber players, playing hero ball.  Doesn’t work on a team of role players with a single allstar.

At least his defense has some structure.  It’s terrible and the players are always lost, but there’s more to than wishful thinking.

I think games like yesterday are why Brooks could be gone next year. Wall coming back will get some fan interested up. But not as much as a new coach with a new system AND Wall coming back AND maybe they add someone in the summer. ****, watch them change the name to something like "The Washington Monuments". You know it's in the works.

The way this roster is constructed, and what they want to do in the offseason, give me little hope of improving the defense enough to matter. I'm not a fan of Brooks, but even a good defensive coach would struggle to get this roster to look good defensively. If we re-up Bertans like they want, its going to make it damn near impossible to fix the defense. Guys who can play defense on a budget will likely choose to do so on a team that can compete for championships.

I'm not sold we've seen the best of Bryant at 22, and my hope was the goal if keeping him in the building until somebody did.  I'm not sold on Betrans m, I wanted to trade him when he dominating from 3, but as long as it's not an Ian level contract, that's not a bad player to have on your roster as depth, jus not a starter.

Along with changing how we value second round picks versus throwing them away for rentals, who's really here from our playoff run that should be gone by now?  Ian is a gimme and next, but Morris is gone, Porter is gone. The refused to trade Beal, that's why I didnt qualify this as a true rebuild, but if Wall is even half the player he was, that's still a decent backcourt to work with and focus on other positions.

But if its not players better at defense, the results will be the same, never sniffing the ECF, let alone 50 wins.

Hottest Brad has been in his career.

Think he had a sit down a few days ago with that trainer he works out with in the off-season. Then he drops 53 last night, going off again tonight.

I had volume off, but looked like Beal lost his footing on the sideline and ref pointed the other way.

****ing Brad man... before I could look we turned it over. Such a key possession there.

Ish has been kind of invisble since taking over as a starter. Not seeing anything out of jerome robinson since they acquired him.

Beal is probably gonna bounce when he can, just going to enjoy it while we have him. Back to back losses despite dropping 50 is going to sting him. 1-8 record when he goes for 40+. His greatness is going to waste and he wont get his just acknowledgement in DC.

Your last stat should inform Beal on his decision making and what he needs to do to win. Big time scoring stats are meaningless when the team loses.

typically i would agree, but its not like he's going around stat padding. he has some moments of hero ball in the 4th quarters of games at times, but largely he's getting his in an efficient manner. can't really fault him that he's playing on a team with multiple dudes who should be in the g-league at best and is taking instruction from a bad coach
