SkinInsite
Karma coming back to haunt Dortmund Another Malaga finish? Close but not enough for Real. What a game, both team could have easily scored a couple more goals. Edited April 30, 2013 by SkinInsite
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Thank you Dortmund for preserving Bob Paisley's record as the only Coach/ Manager to win the European Cup/ Champions League 3 times for another season. Seriously thought Mourinho was going to equal it this year. Think about that for a moment ..... The European Champions Cup has been in existence 58 years. And only Paisley has taken a team to three triumphs. Three in a five year spell. And back at a time when it was strictly Champions against Champions, straight knock-out every round. For all the recent talk of Sir Alex Ferguson being the GOAT; folk too readily forget just what Bob achieves in 9 years. A feat in domestic titles it took Frguson 13 years to match. And, as Fergies successor will find, one of the hardest things in coaching is to follow a legend. Bob not only did that, he improved on what Shankly had started. Rebuilding the side twice. Not knocking Ferguson Richmond. His record is phenomenal. Just saying it's hard to separate the two when you put everything in perspective. Now good look Dortmimd again the final. Beat either Barca or Munich and keep Liverpool as the only club along with Milan and Madrid to OWN a European Cup. Hail. RichmondRedskin88
*comes back to life* No offense taken GHH. Fergie and Bob were/are both incredible managers. Of course SAF will get more attention now with all the championships fresh in everyone's mind. Doesn't take away from what other managers have done. No doubt the memory SAF will leave behind at Man Utd will be a fond one full of all kinds of championships and records. Also of a manager who conducted himself in a certain way and demanded his players do the same. ------ I want Dortmund to take it. I know I've recently grown fond of Barca but they have had glory recently and for quite a awhile. This is Dortmund's chance to rise up and grab glory on a bigger stage. Last year was great with winning the league and cup. But this Dortmund's chance and may be the best chance for the near future sadly depending on how things go. This is also the chance for Dortmund to get out of the shadow of Bayern.

SkinInsite
Barca v Bayern Alex Song some how gets the start, Schweinsteiger and Martinez is going run rampant again. Oh and if you are a BVB fan six Bayern players are one yellow away from missing the finals. Edited May 1, 2013 by SkinInsite
renaissance
Home sick today, don't mind if I do. I have never seen illegal handling called on a goalie, but thought it was warranted against Barca earlier.
Elessar78
If Barca are playing, then they are cheating. Even decent guys like Jordi Alba and Sanchez, 12 months into their stint turn into whining floppers.

Old Bay
Championship season is over today (outside of the playoffs). Blackburn managed to stay up. What a weird and terrible season. Five managers, one of them twice. Owners getting sued by one of them for his wages. Rumors of infighting among the board. Probably will end up losing several of the key individuals in the squad that helped keep the team up, mainly Jordan Rhodes. Without him I think Rovers would've been relegated a while ago. And sad times for Roger Johnson of Wolves. Relegated 3 years in a row.
renaissance
http://blog.foxsoccer.com/post/49623329896/its-been-a-fantastic-day-for-clubs-in-yorkshire On the final day of the Championship season, local Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town and Barnsley were both desperately trying to avoid relegation to League One. Tension rose when Huddersfield scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute, Barnsley was doomed unless they could score again. But it wasn’t over yet. Crystal Palace scored a late winner against Peterborough. That result meant that all the two Yorkshire clubs had to do was keep the score at 2-2 and both would live to play another season in the Championship. Word of Palace’s win spread through the stadium, and the fans started chanting “Yorkshire! Yorkshire!” The players quickly figured out what was happening. Without hesitation, both sides appeared to agree to just hang out on the pitch until the game ended. Barnsley goalkeeper casually dribbled the ball around his box while the rest of the players stood at midfield, anxiously waiting the whistle. When it finally blew, the stadium erupted in joyous celebrations.
Elessar78
Not America bashing, but few Americans get the joy of finishing fourth or 17th.
Old Bay
Yeah, agreed. Different environments lead to that. Drafts allow folks to feel some consolation for finishing poorly. Plus there's no relegation/promotion. It's a fairly safe environment for franchises in the States. They've all banded together to make sure the league's success. There's some of that in soccer, but not to the same extent.

RichmondRedskin88
Yeah I mean over in the US teams don't rely on money like clubs do for Champions League and such. Even clubs who have recently won the Champions League have been in that situation. Not long ago Barca (10 years actually) was doing everything it could just make the Champions League for the money because of being near bankruptcy. Some clubs rely on certain revenues to survive. There's not the same urgency in the US due to the no relegation system. It would be interesting what would happen if MLS, NASL, and USL had that. Old Bay
The skins might have been on the verge of relegation this past decade. Most DC sports would've been. The Wizards would be in Conference North at this point. There's really no room for a rebuild with relegation and promotion on the line.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
What a depressingly dreadfull derby. Passionless. Flat. Even the atmosphere was muted in the hot sun. Really thought we'd lick the blues today but we didn't have the desire to lick a stamp. And Everton were no better with little intent to play football. Sturbridge missed a sitter, in an all round terrible, lazy game from him. I'm tempted to say L'pool should of had two penalty's. The one first half down the other end of the ground on Sturridge was hard to say. Fellaini's looked a handball Kop end secon half, but in truth neither team deserved to win. VERY poor advertisement for Merseyside football. Loved the 'loveable' blues and their irony at the end ..... 'Looking down on the red s***** ' indeed. Pity yers still 18 years and counting since yers last silverware huh? David Moyes- ZERO trophys. 1 Champs league qualifier- Lost. 1 Europa League qualifier- Lost 5-0. Football genius! But hey, you achieved your aim of finishing above L'pool so happy wanking over that in yers Kirkby hovels tonight. Enjoy the one and done Euro adventure this summer MisterP. Hail.
