Thinking Skins
So for about the past week or so, I've had this great song in my head, "With a Little Help From My Friends". I just can't stop singing those first 2 lines. Its just a great opening to me. And sitting here bored in my office, got me wondering what some of the other great song openings are? Any suggestions? Predicto
I'm not as impressed by lines that sound like poetry as I am by lines that just kickstart a song. Beatles - I Saw Her Standing There "Well she was just seventeen, you know what I mean..." No, I actually don't know what you mean, but it's a GREAT way to start a song. Or some of the great protest songs. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Ohio "Tin soldiers and Nixon coming We're finally on our own This summer I hear the drumming Four dead in Ohio That just blows the song into gear
Dan T.
I'm not as impressed by lines that sound like poetry as I am by lines that just kickstart a song. then you probably like what I consider the most inane opening line in rock and roll history: She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean, she was the best damn woman that I've ever seen.
