Holy **** - Karl Swanson is alive?!?!?! Seriously?

With the complete lack of ANY intelligent PR coming from the Redskins front office over the past 12 months, I figured he was dead in his office and no one had found him yet.

Favorite quote - "Swanson, 59, has been tending to Snyder's image for at least a dozen years." Ummmmm, he might be a bigger failure than Vinny.

Like any good advocate, Swanson has tried to put the best possible face on even unpopular policies. After the organization tacked a $5-to-$10 parking surcharge on to tickets for concerts and soccer games at FedEx Field this past summer -- a fee fans paid even if they took the Metro to the events -- Swanson defended such charges by saying they were "common" at other local venues. However, representatives of TicketMaster, the Patriot Center, Verizon Center, and Merriweather Post Pavilion said they don't price tickets this way.

It just keeps getting worse.

What a ******* Snyder is. **** him

The two most interesting parts, imo:

"Karl knows less is more," says The Post's Wise. "He does his job by keeping Dan sheltered. He represents the wall between Dan Snyder and his public. Because if the wall weren't there, you might not like what you see."
In the past, Swanson has also been critical of the paper and its reporters on one of the team's Web sites, Extremeskins.com.

Obviously this guy thinks Swanson posts here under the name 'Art'. :)

When The Post was preparing to publish the second of two articles about Redskins season-ticket sales in September, Swanson sent out a preemptive press statement about a story few had seen. The article, detailing the team's penchant for suing financially strapped season-ticket holders, would be "unfair to the Redskins," Swanson wrote in his release, because it would "focus on a tiny minority" of fans. The Post's story would not reflect "the enormous efforts" the team has made to avoid taking hundreds of its other customers to court, he added.
Wow! Snyder's a friggin hero!

we should sue Snyder in court for rights to his humanity. He gave those up long ago anyway

Snyder seems to be a contradiction, if you go by some comments of players, various sources, and media -- behind the scenes he is a brash and in your face type of boss but at the same time he seems insecure and doesn't want to be around "like" personalities who can give it back.

According to the media and for that matter his pals George Michael and Vinny Cerrato, he didn't "click" personally with Gregg Williams (strong personality) and that's partly why he wasn't hired. Marty at the end seemed like too strong of a personality for him. Lavar Arrington said that when he's seen Snyder occasionally at events he seemed intimidated by him.

He got along well with Gibbs, who is a very nice guy. Heck Vinny for his faults seems like a very nice guy. Zorn ditto. These aren't IMO threatening personalities. Its just a guess but he seems to be comfortable if he's EASILY the most domineering personality in the room.

Likewise, unlike his hero Jerry Jones, or other brash owners like George Steinbrenner in his hey day, he seems intimidated by the press. His interviews for the most part have to be controlled, or he needs his man Vinny right by his side.

He doesn't seem to trust his ability or fears dealing with the heat directly whether its the press or a forceful personality.

That's why I don't think you'll see a Cowher here or Holmgren but someone more low key like a Shanahan.

It's a horribly written sentence. Farhi should have written something like, "On the team's Web site, Extremeskins.com, Swanson has also been critical of the paper and its reporters," which would be better written but still dumb since it is incorrect.

Snyder is a scary man. I knew that for sure when NBC did not pick up the redskins report on saturday nights with George,Sonny, Wilbon and Riggins. NO REDSKINS fan since i have been alive did not love that show.

The show was too critical. Snyder has managed to buy a radio station and control a media market.

He even bought the message board. But he can't control the power of the pen. ( The washingtonpost) and other newspapers. So it drives him crazy.
