FloridaSkinsFan2
Marcus Trufant, UFA, Seattle Seahawks Trufant’s contract has voided based on playing time and given the team’s commitment to other players at his position, it appears that the cornerback will be looking for a starting position elsewhere. His 2004 season was easily his best, when he compiled 96 total tackles, five interceptions, and a sack. He was unable to match that type of production until this season, in which he has 77 total tackles and seven interceptions. He will be one of the top defensive targets on the market. ST is my boy
He was the BEST player on the field in our playoff game.....if this is true.....WE HAVE to go after this guy.
dinamo
Absolutely. He should be a good CB for us.

Anyone worried whether this might be a contract year flash-in-the-pan? Anyone remember Kenard Lang and how he came on strong in his contract year? Veretax
Anyone worried whether this might be a contract year flash-in-the-pan? Anyone remember Kenard Lang and how he came on strong in his contract year? Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Getting him would allow us to see how carlos is doing, and be flexible with Springs, that's for sure. But you have to sign him for less this year then springs would make if we cut him, even if that means signing him for 7 years or something. Wyndorf25
Id happily take him! Unfortunatley, It would spell the end of one of our other CBs (Springs, Rogers or Smoot--all of which I would like to keep around for one more season).
DWinzit
If the decision was to only go after one big money FA Trufant would be at the top of my list. His acquisition would open the draft to best available DL and OL in the first two rounds.
MartinC
If Springs is going then yes I would be all over this guy. He is very good starting caliber corne who also plays the run well. He is not as good a cover guy as Samuel from the Pats but will be a LOT cheaper. That said will teh Hawks not want to at least tag him?
TLusby
Nnamdi Asomugha | Oakland | CB; this guy might be more bang for the buck. I would restructure Springs as I believe he will do this year and have Springs, Rogers, Smoot, and Asomugha.
DCMONEY
If Trufant is available hell yeah. I just don't wqnt the Skins to give up the Kitchen sink. I wouldn't care who it is.
Dictator
I'd take him. But I wouldn't get into a bidding war for him.
skinfan31
I wouldn't mind at all. But how much would it cost?
Currahee
If Mora gets the job, I bet then we go after Trufant.
KevinthePRF
He's going to demand money, and I'd rather invest money up front before spending big money on a CB. Trufant or any other CB in the league will look like crap without an effective pass rush. Probably the main reason he looked so good in our playoff game was because we were getting dominated up front.
RDSKNfaithfull
No thanks with our Cap situation we will only be able to get one player who will cost big money and I rather sure up the O line and draft a young corner in the 3rd round of the draft. Grimm
I like Trufant, but some team will overpay for him based on the Playoff game against us and the fact CBs are in high demand. I would rather see Nnamdi Asomugha from the Raiders if he doesn't get hugely overpaid as well.

FootballGuy2677
If he is really a UFA then we have to go after him Springs being as old as he is. Marcus Trufant is one of the most physically gifted defensive backs in the NFL. Players and coaches know that. I think he is relatively young to, like 27? Would not be a bad idea at all. emor09
i would love Trufant, and then we dont have to worry about Springs....either he restructures or he is gone

Stadium-Armory
Just like everything else, you need to balance all the needs. Signing him, means giving something up elsewhere. Nothing's free. And my unscientific alanysis says that resources spent on the defensive line might provide more fruit. A better pass rush, would negate the need for a shut down secondary position player at every spot.
voicekiller
I would sign him if the price is right...he was the best player besides PK on the Hawks, but he may not leave Seattle, he may be tagged
