DM72
I got Pacman via stoppage in either the 5th or 6th.
NoCalMike
Rios is being served up on a platter. Even before the extra motivation from the altercation.
StillUnknown
I was leaning towards Rios, but after seeing how Mike Alvarado looked against Provodnikov, I think Pac wins easy. Them two wars took a lot out of Alvarado, I expect Rios will show similar decline tonight. Pac's skills are declining, but even a 70% Pac should have no issues using his speed and angles to work around Rios.
ksun247
That heavyweight fight was decent while it lasted. Can't believe Hamer quit. Those guys were throwing some serious leather.

Hamer has a history of doing stuff like that. Quite a few people I follow on twitter predicted he would quit on his stool.
StillUnknown
Easy first round for Pac, his speed carried that round.
NoCalMike
Rios basically standing there like a corpse in front of Pac Man doing nothing. Did he know he was supposed to be in a fight tonight? This couldn't be more of a perfect opponent for Pac to look good against. Rios stands there in front of Pac, no head movement. Just stands there, doesn't throw a lot of punches. StillUnknown
Pacquiao has won all 4 rounds so far, but Rios isn't completely out of it. If Pac starts to fade, this could get interesting, otherwise it will be a repeat of the first four rounds. Rios not really throwing any meaningful punches. They picked Rios for a reason, if Pac's gas tank holds up, this is easy work.
NoCalMike
I think the Rios camp just saw the 4 Million dollars so they signed the dotted line. It's like Rios never even showed up. It's not that he was an elite fighter deserving of this status anyway, but it's like he never cared.

It's not that he was an elite fighter deserving of this status anyway, but it's like he never cared. I think he cared, its only so much he can do. He's a slow, plodding pressure fighter who has never been in the ring with anything close to Pac's speed or movement. Rios has no idea how to hit anybody he can't walk down. StillUnknown
Rios' trainer might as well call it a night. Save Rios from a couple more rounds of damage. This one ain't changing. Clean sweep for Pac after 11, you can't even find a "I'm going to be generous" round to give to Rios.

Destino
That fight was boring and looked like Pacman was beating up some random nobody that was just trying to get out of the fight without getting KO'd.

ksun247
Good win for Manny! Expected a little more from Rios. He didn't back up any of his trash talk. Guess he really was a sparring partner.
NoCalMike
When asked his preference of who he would like to fight next he deferred to Bob Arum. So, who is the next slow plodding slugger they can hype up to convince folks to plunk down $70 for?

JoeWolf990
was always designed to be a "comeback" win for Manny, but I am still not convinced that he is an elite guy anymore. Rios hit Pacquiao A LOT. Rios is a plodder whose defense is his face, so it was good for Manny to dominate dude.

Rios hit Pacquiao A LOT. Rios is a plodder whose defense is his face, so it was good for Manny to dominate dude. Manny's demise was greatly over exaggerated. He beat Bradley despite the official scoring. He was well on his way to taking JMM out before he got too careless and Pacquiao has always taken punishment. He was never a defensive specialist and despite what I just said, Rios DID NOT hit Pacquiao a ton because if he did we probably would be having a very different discussion. JoeWolf990
Rios connected on 43 percent of his power punches last night. And you say he beat Bradley, most people feel Pacquaio lost to JMM in 2011. (which is often forgotten when people want to say Manny was robbed against Pacquiao. Also the Bradley fight was a lot closer than what many would want to admit). And he didnt just get reckless when getting KOd by JMM, it was a pattern that he has always shown. Just that JMM put him to sleep after setting him up. IDK, I dont believe Pacquiao is an elite boxer anymore and last night was the perfect fight for him to look good in. THat was the point of it. Rios is a B-/C level fighter who is a brainless stationary target and Manny beat him like he was supposed too. DM72
I saw the fight and I do not believe Rios connected on 43% of his power shots. I saw a lot of swings and misses. He never truly caught Pacquiao with anything big. As for the JMM fights, Anyone of those fights could have went either way. I don't believe none of those fights were highway robberies like the Pacquiao/Bradley fight. And I find it kinda of funny that all of a sudden Rios is a B/C level fighter when just before the fight people were picking Rios for the upset. As for the JMM fights, Anyone of those fights could have went either way. I don't believe none of those fights were highway robberies like the Pacquiao/Bradley fight.nah, that 3rd fight was all JMM. Many people were incredulous after that fight because it looked like a clear JMM victory. And I find it kinda of funny that all of a sudden Rios is a B/C level fighter when just before the fight people were picking Rios for the upset.name the reputable people who predicted Rios would win? Rios was tailor made for Manny. Top Rank set this up just so people can believe Manny was "back." Edited November 24, 2013 by JoeWolf990
NoCalMike
JMM/Pac fights were all good fights, but IMO the two most decisive wins were the 3rd & 4th fight, which JMM won via KO and I felt was robbed of a decision. The other two were a Draw and split decision. Sometimes a fighter/specific matchup is a particular fighter's Achilles heel and no matter what they do to try and adapt, they just struggle. Mosley in his prime lost twice decisively to Forrest for much of the same reasons. Just a bad matchup for him.. Rios was coming off a loss and didn't even deserve to be in there with Manny on this kind of stage. Those who were picking the upset it was in large part because they assumed the KO he took was going to permanently change him. It didn't and it showed that he could still box circles around guys that don't box. No one that picked Rios to win was doing it on the basis of him being a better boxer, they just thought Pac was vulnerable for the one big punch putting him down from here on out. It was Pac's best performance perhaps since the stopping of Cotto, but again a tailor made opponent that favored Manny's skill set. I don't think Bob Arum is going to allow him to get in the ring with anyone who is a threat for the remainder of his career unless it is JMM because a 5th fight would be huge money even if Manny got hurt. DM72
After watching the fight last night, what did Pacquiao do that was any different than in years past? He whooped Rios' ass. The only thing he didn't do is knock him out. He won every rd. Ksun247 picked Rios. Still was leaning towards Rios up until the Alvarado/Provodnikov fight. I'm pretty sure they weren't the only ones. Listening to the HBO crew, I get the feeling they were expecting Rios to win.

I've had my fill of Lampely, he did everything but drop to a knee and propose to Pacquiao last night. As for last night, Pac showed he still has a lot left in the tank. His speed & movement are still there for the most part. Some clear slippage from his peak years, but still a fighter that will be a problem for almost anyone he faces moving forward. I think a rematch with Bradley makes sense, or a 5th fight with JMM, if JMM is looking for one more huge payday. Although I think JMM is more content with ending his saga with Pacquiao after that clean KO. Edited November 24, 2013 by StillUnknown
