skinsaddict2621
10. Derrick Thomas 9 Doug Atkins 8 Mark Gastineau 7 Michael Strahan 6 Kevin Greene 5 Gino Marchetti 4 Bruce Smith 3 Lawrence Taylor 2 Reggie White 1 Deacon Jones One thing to note, they didn't show a single clip of Bruce Smith in a Redskins uni. And I would disagree with this list, I would have Reggie White at #1.

bigyim
And I would disagree with this list, I would have Reggie White at #1 and LT at #2. I was about to ask why, but then I saw your age... If you could tell me who Doug Atkins played for without doing a google search, then I might believe that you had enough of a sense of history to name the best pass rushers ever...& not just "the best pass-rushers I can see on youtube". Sorry to tweak you because of your age, but other folks who have been around football for a lot longer time than you or I talk about Jones as having the "unofficial" sack record. When the NFL implements a rule change against a move solely because you're too effective in using it...well, then you're on hallowed ground. The "head slap" rule is in the NFL because of Deacon Jones, just like the clothesline rule is there because of Night train Lane. I loved watching White & Taylor play (Except when they were performing mayhem on the Skins, of course). However, I totally agree with putting Deacon #1. Koolblue13
Derrick Thomas, what a shame. He was so good. I would put Reggie at #1, but I didn't see Deacon play.
SoCalSkins
Dexter should be #

If I had to start an all time team, White is my first pick! You shouldn't be surprised to not see Smith in a Redskin uni. He will rightfully be remembered as a Bill by most. Admittedly I'm to young to have seen Deacon Jones play, but I have seen plenty of film on him. Just a tremendous player/pass rusher. Every older football fan that I have talked to that had seen him play Mentions two things: 1.The head slap & rule change; 2. Compares his dominance to that of Reggie White. He should definitely be at number 1 and I think Reggie would agree. :peaceout:
Touchdown Redskins
I've heard a lot about Deacon Jones through ESPN Classic and whatnot, but I did not know he was this good. Unfortunately, I never got to seem him play live, as I'm too young, but putting him in front of the Minister of Defense is definitely high praise. Does anyone have any links to film on him? Coloradoskin
Deacon Jones is number 1 hands down... I am sorry but Dexter Manley was better than Kevin Greene. I don't care what Greene's numbers are.. Dexter was better. PERIOD !
UltimateSkins
Derrick Thomas should be top 5. He was an absolute beast and when he was on his game no tackle could block him coming off the outside.
Ant15fromNJ
Bruce Smith its good we had him in his prime haha jk.
National Defense
greene, strahan, and gastineau are all rated too high in my opinion. but thats all this list is anyway
CrabR
I remember Deacon Jones kicking an extra point for the skins in 74, his last year in football Dexter should be in the top
Vinnick
I loved Atkins. His diet has really helped me. Seriously, I'm fine with the list. Its hard to make an alltime list when just how physically different players are over time.
Tastes Like Chicken
How about the guy who had 17 sacks in ONE GAME, before they even had the term 'sack'. That's the kind of **** that I can only see happening on Madden.
Stone Cold
for my money, i'd take richard dent or dexter manley over kevin greene on that list any day.

Hes not even on the list just because of the fact they didn't keep stats on that but if they did he would still hold the records of most career sacks. He played for the eagles. dfbovey
Deacon Jones would hold the all time sack record if they kept track of that sort of thing when he played.
StillUnknown
hard to argue with that list. all lists are opinions, but thats one of the few that i see myself agreeing with....although i would make one or two adjustments. Deacon definitely deserves to be #
Drex
I love the NFL Network's Top Ten series of shows. It is very informative and is great for fans who didn't get the opportunity to witness the true greats of the game.
Riggo-toni
Dexter should be #4 He should at least be on there. He might have ended up top 3 if he'd stayed clean.
Aghar
All homerism aside that list is a solid one. Everyone on there belongs there. :2cents: I was actually speaking to my father this morning about this and he said Gino Marchetti should be considered top3. Used the word "animal" when describing him. Don't know about that since it was way before my time.
McMetal
Yeah, Dexter definitely belongs on there. Kevin Greene? Please. LT should be ahead of Reggie White.
BKSkinsFan
Kevin Greene's actually #3 all time leader in sacks with 160. You'd think maybe the #4 all time leader Chris Doleman would be on the list somewhere.
