Nope, can't say that I have. But I have seen to many movies [[i.E. Resident Evil]] that they creep me out. I try to avoid them at all cost .... unless it's some high rise building. Which Im afraid of heights as well ... so damn.

Bet they never want to hear any Elevator music for the rest of their lifetime :)

I was in seattle in a building on 5th and union nworking for this court reporting company. I was going down and tried to open the door a little to watch everything go by. The elevator released or something and began to to fall down, it was only a floor and a half, plus theres a is something that keeps it from falling fast. The door didn't open on its own when the car came to a rest. When I opened the door i was about 4 1/2 feet below the first floor. I crawed out and ran back up stairs. Curiosity will kill the fifteen year.

I work at a historic court building. I was once stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes with the Clerk of the Court and 15 high school senior girls that he was taking on a tour of the building.

Pretty cool except the situation didn't actually progress the way the porn industry had assured me it would.... :(

Whoot! The elevator safety break is one of the greatest and most foolproof inventions of all time.

Never got stuck, but I did have one get up to the 4th floor and have a hydraulic failure. It went back down to the bottom. Luckily it didn't plummet down fast. :)

On a side note, I occasionally flip the emergency alarm switch on and off, when its packed with people. It makes it stop abruptly and rings a bell. One time a manager spilled her coffee everywhere.

On my senior class trip to NYC, we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Newark near the Budweiser plant. There were 4 of us in the elevator, and one guy decided to open the doors during our descent from the 8th floor (I think it was 8, but it was 11 years ago) and the elevator stopped in between floors. The fire dept had to come, bring another elevator alonside, take the walls off both elevators, and have us step across a 3 foot gap to the other elevator. We were stuck for a little more than 2 hours between floors 5 and 6 I believe. Lots of fun!

I did get stuck in an elevator once, but it was no fault of the elevator.

I was TDY in So Cal with 3 other Army guys. We decided to spend a weekend in LA. We went out drinking, then decided to hit the hotel bar at the end of the night. I guess I decided to go up to my room before everyone else (things got kinda fuzzy). Next thing I know my buddy is waking me up in the elevator and dragging me to my room. He said that I had left the bar an hour before he did. Apparently I passed out in the elevator.....

I just wonder how many times people got on the elevator and had to share it with me. :)

Luckily it was a decent hotel and I still had my wallet.

A bunch of times. The elevator in my dorm freshman year was a POS so it would stop while i was in it about once every other month. The first time it was scary. The 5th time is was like "jeez " Usually was stuck for just like 15 minutes.

In April, my office had a meeting in some hotel in Alexandria. Afterwards, we of course hit the bar on the top floor. As we are leaving we take the elevator down and we are of course smashed. Most of us are going to the bottom floor garage, but one of our guys needed to get off in the lobby. He forgets to hit the button, so as we pass the lobby, his drunk ass realizes it and............TRIES TO OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY. So the whole thing shuts down, the fire department had to come, took an hour. Man did i have to pee so bad.

In a hotel about 4 years ago.

Going down to get the person who was staying with me.....I had checked in earlier.......and you had to have a key to put in the elevator to get to our floor.

It made it almost all the way down.......but was stuck between floor 1 & 2. I could hear people fussing about the elevator not coming....and I started yelling for them to open the door.

The fire department had to come pry open the doors.....and the floor of the elevator was about 6 1/2 feet above where it should have been.

I had to jump down off there....and then go directly to the next elevator to get back to our floor.

About 45 minutes stuck.

It was my first day at a second job. I got in an elevator and it got stuck about 3 feet from the floor I got in on. I was in that thing for 2 1/2 hrs, it was only a 4 hr shift so after a nap in a broken elevator I was told to go home for the rest of the night because of the "tragic" experience and was paid for the full shift.

It sucked but, hey at least I got a nap.

It was a nightmare. As soon as I got on the power went out. The phone did not work so I used my cell to call my boss. After she called for help she was banging on the door laughing at me. Well building maintance could not get it open so they called the fire department. Two trucks came and found me and a friend sitting on the floor watching NFL network on my phone.
