method man
A friend recently gave me copies of all five seasons of X-Men TAS. After going through four seasons, I now remember why it was my favorite cartoon series as a kid. Yeah there are some kiddie things but I did not realize how powerful of a social message this series had until now. Remniescing, I think what made it so special for me were the excellent voice overs, the theme song, the character development, and not dumbing down the series for the audience. I would take the animated series over the movies anyday.
LT Smash
you mean the one from the mid 90's? i loved that show. where can i get those episodes?
Thinking Skins
I wish those shows were released on DVD. I've been looking for them everywhere. But to no avail.
TimFolk
Yeah I have those on DVD's along with Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four from the 90's. Those are the voices I hear when I read the comics. But I didn't like how they changed some things from the comics and dumbed them down. Because Wolverine couldn't actually cut or stab anything but robots he was reduced to the team punching bag. But it's all good

Spartacus87
That and Spider Man were the **** to watch after school. I thought Spider-Man was on Saturday Mornings on Fox Kids. Either way, I think we all really know that Batman the Animated Series was atleast tied with X-Men for best cartoon show on TV back then.
method man
Yeah I have those on DVD's along with Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four from the 90's. Because Wolverine couldn't actually cut or stab anything but robots he was reduced to the team punching bag. But it's all good I think it followed the comics reasonably well. Yeah there were some differences like Morph who was created for the series (awesome character too). However many of the general subplots such as the Savage Land, Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, and others were covered. Remember that the actual comic book series is very complicated. So the guys who created the animated series did a nice job of simplifying it. I also think that X-Men and Spiderman were the only two animated series that Marvel succeeded on. I remember that crap such as Iron Man and the Avengers just sucked.

Thinking Skins
I googled online and there are a couple sites that sell the DVDs. Yeah, now I can find the DVDs everywhere. It seems that there was enough of a demand for this stuff. A friend of mine makes a point to buy all this stuff, so I can just borrow it from him. Great stuff. MintHillSkinsFan
I have X-Men season 1 at the house right now for my 6 year old. He loves it. Got it from blockbuster. He's already been through Spider Man and we have Iron man in queue. Of course I get as much enjoyment out of it as he does.
visionary
Spiderman and X-Men were great. I used to love the ones from the 70's or 80's too. I remember getting the old shows on video at Blockbuster and Errols when I was a kid and thinking how cool they were. The opening stuff before the actual show was pretty fun. By the way, one odd thing that happened to me involving the 90's Spiderman cartoon was that one time when I was watching it back when I was in highschool probably, all of the sudden the broadcast cut in to some porn for a few seconds and then switched back. It was really weird and sometimes I think I imagined it, lol.

Yeah too bad the LIVE ACTION movies wanted to bring it near the end of the 2nd movie. They could have made something EPIC and instead RUINED it

kiingspadee
Totally agree. That would have kept me coming back for 3 more if they'd done Phoenix Saga. They felt the need to rush it. Like OH SNAP WE NEED TO ADD THIS NAO! It was pathetic. When I saw it at the end of the movie I literally was in the theater and said **** YOU got to be kidding me. People looked at me like uhhh what? But those that knew what I was talking about clapped and said yes wtf
