I’ve been reading about this. Apparently malls all over Fairfax county are loaded with police. The threat isn’t specific really, other than a general threat to malls. Apparently everyone knows a guy who knows a guy who has a brother in a 3 letter agency who says it’s a “credible threat”. All the contractors received a notice about this. Doesn't seem to be MO of our agencies to release info like this about a threat. I’m sure they get threats all the time. Then it’s supposedly ISIS? They haven’t carried out a terrorist attack in this county and they want to attack shopping malls in suburban VA? Seems a bit off.

I need to vent and I think this is the proper thread. Are you all watching the narrative that’s being painted for the gubernatorial race in VA? It’s schools. Specifically, it’s over a parents choice to choose what their children are taught in school. Naturally, as this is the biggest race of November, it’s really just a litmus test for the nation. Parents absolutely, unequivocally and under no circumstances, are qualified to decide what their children are taught in school. It’s abhorrent that republicans are picking this fight and they’re obviously doing to try and win over middle aged mothers, the same ones who abandoned over Trump. They’re courting the same voters whose bodies they’d like control over. Like, I’m seriously pissed over this whole thing, maybe because I think it might be a devious enough tactic for it to win Youngkin the governor’s mansion. Mostly I’m pissed because I’m a parent with kids in public school. I’m offended that Republicans think I even want a say in what my children are taught in school. No. I live in Fairfax county and an affluent neighborhood because I trust that my children will get an adequate education. If I wanted something different then I’d send my kids to private school or home school them. **** these people.

Watch them pull out a convincing win and everyone hops back on the bandwagon. This team’s so ****ed it will screw up a tank job.

I just hate watch this team and take a nap during the games now. I even went to a game this season and it was a terrible idea. That place is a ****hole. I should probably find another team to root for. I’m partial to the Chargers, the Titans and Cardinals. Some up and coming teams that haven’t made it over the hump quite yet. Once upon a time, as a child, I was a Baltimore Orioles fan. Loved Cal Ripken Jr and Brady Anderson. Peter Angelos drove me away. Jumped to the Nationals. I feel like I should do that with the WFT. If I pick another team than I can just move on and not have football be filled with delight over the failure of my favorite team.

Well surely we will sink lower when Snyder finishes bungling the change of the team name.

I just don’t see how this gets fixed. How much can we realistically pay people to bus tables, work as nurses, school bus drivers, help customers at a Best Buy, work stocking shelves at a grocery store? We are reaching a point where there are two different class and they’re being more stratified daily. Youve got this class of workers who get every holiday off imaginable, gets to work from home, has a plenty of up amount of PTO, lots of benefits. Then there’s another class of blue collar workers who’s jobs rely of them being at their place of employment, waiting on people who treat them with little to no respect, no PTO, etc. This group largely resents that WFH, pandemic didn’t hurt their pocketbook class.

Landon Collins is such a disappointment. And to think that this guy wanted Taylor’s number. Ugh.

I just don’t see any way that this ends well. I see vacancies across pretty much every industry. Inova has a nursing shortage, every service industry faces an employment shortage, teaching shortage, bus driver shortage, etc. I don’t think the answer is as simple as “pay them more” and I don’t see it getting any better. I think we will have to deal with poor service across the board and increasing prices with a greater scarcity of goods. It’s probably going to get worse and I doubt it ever gets better.

So what’s the best way to consume flower that isn’t so harsh on the throat, lungs? I have a small bowl, but I was wondering if they make vapes that heat flower that are convenient, bongs and bubblers are too much work.
