US immigration law allows asylum seekers to show up and submit their request. This needs to be repeated 100 times as often as anything related to white supremacy and racism in the coverage of this immigrant caravan. It's clear to me that Trump and the GOP are taking advantage of American ignorance regarding their own immigration laws. I think the best response is educational. Relentless facts. I'm not saying they shouldn't talk about the racism component, it matters, but calling Trump a racist for the 12,769th time isn't going to move the needle. I'd just like for the general public to know that Trump is sending troops in response to immigrants attempting to enter the country legally.
