CSN - RG3 says he will lean on his teammates in return

The topic isn't really that worthy of sharing but reading this part of the article is definitely note-worthy:

"Griffin reiterated that he believes he could have played Monday night in Dallas, but the team decided it was in everybody’s best interest for him to get another week of practice under his belt.

“We wanted to give it a little bit more time and be smart about it,” he said. “With the past, you learn from that. You learn from those mistakes. You learn from those trials and tribulations. And I thank Coach for keeping me sane and allowing me to be involved with the game plan and everything, just so I could keep my mind working even though my body wasn’t.”

I think from this we can decipher two things:

1) He's 100%. He felt he was ready last week but they waited.
2) That underlined sentence is the key difference in this Coach's approach to his injury vs that last guy...

with the red face... you know...

I, for one, am very excited for his return. Looking forward to some dynamic playmaking and arm strength on deep throws to djax. However, I expect some rust and will take it a game at a time.

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain, we all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on

Please, swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show

Your poem was timely.  The man who brought me to my first Redskins game (division game vs. the cardinals) passed from this world today.   My father taught me the fight song, the rules of the game and why (at the time) Billy was a better QB than Sonny.  He gave me so much, including my love of our Redskins!!!

Tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. Other than that....great Poem!

What? Damn Billy I'm sorry to hear that. I'm a redskin from my granddad to my pops to me. That is why I love the Redskins. Its not so much the individual teams but the unforgettable sunday afternoons where me n my dad and his dad spent our time together. my love for the Redskins is my love for the special times that i spent with my dad and his... granddads been gone... pops aint got too much longer......but when i'm 90.. i will still be that kid pullin for my granddads/dads/mine Redskins.... that will always be their legacy to me n my daughter...HTTR

I hope he comes back and Lights it up. On that note I must say this....I really hate Heath Evans. This guy is a bonifide hater. I wonder if RG3 talked about this guys mother or something because he constantly talks sugar honey Ice Tea about him..Like he was any good when he played.

This...

Been tooting that horn for a while now. His face visibly changes, he spits nothing but venom...he just gives this whole air of disgust that he even has to waste his precious air time talking about him.

I actually turned on his segment on NFLN on purpose after we announced RGIII would start, just to see if a ) it was all in my head, & b ) how bad his reaction could possibly get. I was not disappointed...at the immediate change of topic to RGIII he gave his vomit face, like he just threw up in his mouth, & rolled his eyes. He's off center camera at the time...but visible enough.

Heath Evans is garbage, & encompasses everything that is wrong with the media today.

Agreed, nemo.  The thing is, I don't get it.  I know some don't like flashier players at the QB position or something, but the dislike he has seems to be personal and fairly intense.  I mean, does he even make that face for Vick or for players who've gotten in trouble with the law or the Ray Rices of the league? I'm just trying to understand what it is about RG3 that the dude crosses the line into unprofessional, unflattering and, frankly, immoral public behavior.

I think it's the nature of the fan base. Throughout Skins historyhistory, there have been many great players, but not many "Out there" players. Theismann and Riggins, you could argue, were two of the first, and I'm sure if there was 24/7 news coverage (which I think contributes to the negativity an athlete receives) and message boards, and Twitter, you'd see a lot of people didn't like them either. That, and they won, so many people probably looked the other way .

Some people I'm sure, didnt like him from the start, for whatever reason that may have been. I'm sure they had affirmation in their own minds once Seattle and the 2013 off-season happened. Those who may have been on the fencewere probably swayed by it. Those who had no problem with him, like myself, were probably put off by it. And here we are.

I think he learned a lot from that fiasco, and I think he deserves a chance to prove himself once and for all. Cousins got his chance in this new system, and failed. Colt, bless his heart, is who he is. Time to see who Griffin is.
