Forehead
25 minutes ago, Captain Wiggles said: The 100 million over 40 years is bull****. Why wait? Just take the 15 million upfront and invest it. Invest 14 million of it. Even at a ****ty 3% return that would be $420,000 a year. 🤑 So in your math world, 420K a year is better than 208K every month (~2.5 million a year)? Sigh, kids these days and their instant gratification. *Edit* even at 8% which is more in line with historical stock market returns, your method is still only good for 1.12 million a year. And that's only if your 3rd choice is to be tax free. Edited April 11 by Forehead
CousinsCowgirl84
The problem with the 100 million is that that makes you super really rich, and the super really rich are hated. With the 15 million up front, you’re only really rich, and you can argue you earned your money since you invested it! Less hate. Captain Wiggles
Quote only good for 1.12 million a year. Oh the horror. How would I possibly survive? 🤣 Once again I'd take the money upfront.
Captain Wiggles
What's a half acre up in Round Hill cost these days? Cuz if it's anywhere near what this nitwit is asking for that 100 acres subdivided would be pretty dang valuable. 🤷🏻♂️ https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1-C-Harmon-Lodge-Ln-Round-Hill-VA-20141/347519428_zpid/

Skins24
15 hours ago, tshile said: 10 mil No sickness 100 mil over 40 years This is the correct answer. Whenever there is an option to take a lump sum, always do that. 10 mil is enough to set you and your family up for life. 100 mil over 40 years is simply for helping others. No sickness ensures I keep helping others for as long as I can.

mcsluggo
i don't understand "influencers" and all that malarky but i'm sure somebody in the know could turn those followers into money and power. just not me. but for THIS geezer the last three... and not even close. (if the lump sum was closer to half of the cash flow, i'd jump on the lump sum. but 1/10th?? nahhhh) money. health. no taxes. takes a lot of drama out of the equation. Corcaigh
An Irish man frees a genie and happy to be released from his confinement, the genie grants him 3 wishes. The Irishman thinks about it, and says "I want a pint of Guinness that is never empty." So poof a pint appears, filled to the rim with the rich black drink. The man drinks it down, and when he places it back on the bar, it's filled up again. "So, what would you like for your other two wishes, sir?" "I want two more of these, then!" 2
Riggo-toni
If no sickness for the rest of my life means my diabetes is cured, that's tops on the list for sure. Then it's the $200+k every month for 40 years, or more accurately, until I drop dead. If I had those 2 things, I would move to Italy and then spend the remaining 30 or so years of my life traveling, so the only other option of any benefit would be no taxes, though with that kind of moulah, I wouldn't complain.
