Simmons is about to be the highest paid FS in the league and worth every penny.

He's had the most picks since he's been in the league.

Dudes a stud.

I don’t see Simmons getting a McKinney type deal. Significant age difference.

That said, the McKinney deal doesn’t include a stack of guaranteed money, in fact the 4/67 deal included 23mil gtd, and that is the complete signing bonus he’s had. No further guaranteed money after the signing bonus. They technically have a one year out.

I'll throw Joey Porters hat into the ring. The ring of Rons drafting failures.

Darrisaw would have solved the LT issue for a decade.  Not an obscure player.  An obvious pick.  but leave it to Ron with his "outside the box" thinking of taking a WLB who most thought would go in the 2nd round instead.

He's not that old and is still close to all pro. I'd love a one year deal, so we get a comp pick for him.

If we're good enough, I could see some of these OYD vets wanting to stick around, too.

Yeah I can see us re-upping some on these 1 year deal during the season, assuming all is going well…..

He doesn't know what we've earned! HOW DARE HE!

Wait... He's defending our fanbase. Nevermind.

Carry on, Al. Knee jerk reaction.

To be fair we could do the 'should have picked this guy' hindsight game with pretty much any draft. But you cant KEEP missing on (or passing on) players at premium spots -QB, OT,DE, CB,WR.

It does look mostly healthy, but I'm confident I could still gain weight at this table.

I can gain weight staring at a wall these days.

I'l give Al he stayed a fan.  Standig said covering the team for the media he's no longer a fan, Finlay said something similar.

Sheehan is a fan though he admits Dan took some of it out of him.  I guess Dannt an Grant.  One of the Junkies.

I'd go with the highsight theory if not half the draft thread it seemed wanted Darrisaw.   I wanted JOK or Darrisaw, both players have been studs.

I liked Jamin but as a 2nd rounder.  A lot of foresight from this board on that one, very little hindsight.

Also taking a WLB over a LT in theory is borderline ridiculous as to valuing premium positions.

No argument. It's not the passing over specific players for me though, it's the pattern of behavior and the continual undervaluing of premium positions like OT.

I'd take 2 QBs too for Sam Darnold, my goal in your shoes would be to do whatever I could to make Darnold QB #3

I think they are going to #4 with AZ soon.

That will give AZ three firsts 11,23,27 plus 35 early second.

If Ron had just gone with Mel Kiper's draft guide and taken the highest rated player with each pick, he might still be here.

Yeah suspect they won't be able to get into the top 3 but maybe top 8 or so depending on where McCarthy goes.

Lot of division reference McCarthys talent level, regardless, there are a number of teams in the hunt for that second tier QB in this draft and I think we will see a lot of interest causing these guys including McCarthy to move up. I think this draft is going to see a lot more trades than recent years.

Nah, Zona has enough picks.  It’s for the Chargers pick.  They have been rumored to be open for business to trade down.  Bolts can still get their desired RT at 11
