We aren’t beating Dallas on Turkey Day.

We're NOT beating Dallas on Turkey Day.  Dallas actually has a quality NFL offense (especially at home where they are unbeatable).  The only way we're winning that game, is if Howell has the game of his life with 400+ yards, 4TD's or more in a shootout.  Lord knows we can't stop ANY offense, let alone a Dak-led offense at home.  We're probably going to lose by 2-3 scores, and I might be conservative with that prediction.

Sam Howell is a top 10 QB. A top 10 QB gives you a chance in every game.

It doesn't matter how Howell performs that game.  We might score 30 and STILL lose by 15-20.  Have you watched this defense this year??  Dallas is going to ABUSE this defense, and we'll have a very difficult time trying to keep up.  Howell might very well have his best game of the season numbers wise, but it's not going to matter, if we're down late in the game 49-30.  I don't care about wins at this point, since the competitive part of our season ended yesterday (it really ended against the Giants, but yesterday was the absolute confirmation).  At this point, I'm only watching to see Howell's development.  That's the only important thing going forward until Black Monday.

Oh I agree I have no faith in our defense being able to stop Dallas.

I think we can win a shootout though.

I mean we were on the brink of beating Philly twice, and they are better than Dallas.

Dallas is a juggernaut at home.  I actually think that if the game were played in Landover, we would definitely have a chance to win.  Dallas is a BEAST at home lately.  They are the kind of team that demolishes bad teams (especially at home).  We're going to run into a Buzzsaw on Turkey Day, and we'll probably be too overwhelmed to match Dallas point for point.  Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence and that defense play a LOT better at home than they do on the road.  I actually think that Howell might get sacked 5+ times, and that the Dallas defense will tee off on this OL and Howell.  Dallas against bad teams is a scary sight.  We definitely qualify as a bad team.

We played Philly tight twice when we still had Young and Sweat.

*Disclaimer: I’m all for the trades, and realize they don’t finish or play contain all that well.

Thats not my point though.  They do create pressures, pressures we simply aren’t seeing the past two weeks.

Dakota is going to be able to sit back there, eat turkey, burp it up and move on to his pumpkin pie, before choosing which open receiver to throw it to.

This on its own will apply much pressure to Sam to make something happen and likely end up in turnovers.  My guess is the line will open at Dallas -9.5 or 10 points.

I am in agreement that Dallas should be a substantial favorite against us on Thanksgiving.

I think people have to better specify what they consider to be a "bad" team. Right now there are probably 8 good teams and 8 bad teams. The other 16 are in the muddled middle. We are one of those middle teams.

The Giants right now, especially down to their 3rd QB, are a bad team. But they even beat us with their second stringer. I expect the Skins to win at home this week, but wouldn't be shocked if the margin was 10 or less.

Reminder they found a way to lose to Arizona. But Dak is going to have to have one of his bad days for us to have any chance in that game.

Rest of the season is about continued development of Howell for me anyway.

I was curious what playoff discussion there could be. The loss to the Bears should have been the major clue this team is not getting to the POs with a miricle. Then losing yesterday ut even miricles out of reach.

We should probably win this week. But is there a win after that? Maybe the Rams but we have to go to LA. Hard to win across the country. Maybe the Jets? But thier D is pretty stout and our D is ****. So let's give us that 2 jsut to be kind. The rest are losses. We are not beating dallas. They beat teams they are better than and they are better than us. Realaly in almost every postioin except punter and maybe interior dline. Oddly enough Sam may end up better than Dak but right now he is not. Pollard > than any of ours. Our TEs are not good and thier Oline is much better than ours. In terms of D all I can say is Micah Parsons.

I agree with those that say the rest of the season is abot developing Sam, and that includes if he is getting killed taking him out. No more 8 or 9 sack games. Sorry Jacoby but that's the life of a back-up. Go take the beatings. Not sure this coaching staff is that aware. But one can hope.

If we beat the Giants, Jets, and Rams, we are 7-9 heading into the finale against Dallas, and the hope was that the Cowboys would have their playoff position sewn up (assumption is Philly would have the division clinched) and it would be a throwaway game for them, and we could somehow get that 7th spot at 8-9.

But peeps didn't count on the Vikes being 6-4. They can still falter, but perhaps not enough to benefit us

I think we’d have to look VERY bad against the Giants for the line to be that high. Consider Dallas is -10.5 v Carolina this week… I understand that’s on road, but still. I think it’s more likely our line with them lands in the 7-8.5 range.

I also actually think the Seahawks are still in play… IF they lose to Rams this week (I’ll be picking the Rams). Yes, it’s a tall mountain with them owning the tie-breaker, but let’s say they lose this week to drop to 6-4.

Next four games:

49ers

at Cowboys

at 49ers

Eagles

That is a brutal stretch. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think they come out of that 7-7. They then go at Tennessee and Pitt back in Seattle. I don’t think 9+ wins for Seahawks is anywhere close to a given; I do think the key is them losing this week in Los Angeles.

So I would say we have a few (at least mild) rooting interests this week:

Rams over Seahawks

Broncos over Vikings

At this point I don’t see much value in looking at the teams tied/below us. Beat the Giants on Sunday and there is a really good chance we will be on those playoff tracker lists as the first team out in NFC heading to Dallas.

Interesting..: I just tried to find some “look ahead” lines..:: I found two reputable sites that have a line posted for the Thanksgiving game. One is -9.5 and one is -7. That’s a pretty big difference. Will see where it ultimately lands.

Hope they lose to the Giants.  That would be so embarrassing to Ron on his way out.  And it would put the final nail in coffin of the RR reign.

Part of me is kind of hoping for this, also because I don't want the Giants getting their hands on Williams or Maye

I’ve got 9.5 on DraftKings and 9.5 on FanDuel.

Speaking of sports betting, for anyone that had a Barstool Sportsbook account, if you download the ESPN Bet app- they are giving you 4 $50 bonus bets upon your first bet placed.  I didn’t realize that I had .33 left in the account and just bet the over in the Wiz/Mavs game.  I didn’t even know you could make a bet for less than $1 but it worked and I now have 4 $50 bets to make in the next week on them.

This thread really should be dead after today.

Fandom is really interesting - we have a dumpster fire organization since 1991 and only 2 wins better than the Giants and people not only expect to beat this team but somehow finish with 8 wins or whatever. Makes me feel like I am watching a different team.
