SemperFi Skins
https://clutchpoints.com/redskins-news-adrian-peterson-being-sued-by-pennsylvania-lender-for-millions/ NFL Redskins RB Adrian Peterson being sued by Pennsylvania lender for millions “A Pennsylvania lender is suing Peterson for allegedly defaulting on a $5.2 million loan, the proceeds of which he used to pay back other debts he incurred, including millions from a “pay-day lender,” court documents in New York show. “The sum, which with interest and legal fees is now $6.6 million, is separate from the $2.4 million a Maryland state judge last week ordered Peterson to pay another creditor — Democracy Capital Corp. In 2018, a Minnesota court ordered him to pay $600,000 left unpaid on a $2.4 million loan.” ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/07/23/adrian-peterson-deep-in-debt-lawyer-says-he-trusted-the-wrong-people/ Adrian Peterson deep in debt, lawyer says he trusted the wrong people

JSSkinz
AP and Trent own a business together, it's almost guaranteed there was a personal guarantee on the defaulted bank notes which means they can to after the gym as well. That affects Trent.

Gibbit
article I read earlier said he borrowed millions from a "payday loan" place, but then alluded that this payday loan company may have acquired the debt. General rule, don't borrow from a place that used to be a Hardees

RandyHolt
Apparently Gronk did it right and pocketed all of his salary, and lived day to day off of endorsements OSS. The Trent AP business angle if true is an interesting curve ball in the holdout. Maybe its not a coincidence saying AP knew nothing.... or maybe it is. Few seemed to chime in about it but he sure wasn't bashful to say he knew nothing. I have an announcement to make. I know nothing. That is all. You'd think he dumped all his money into the housing bubble that burst in 2008 but he seems to have missed that and just blindly trusted Titanic Pyramid Ponzi Investments LLC. Someone must have been giving him fake financial statements to drag it out long enough, to milk all of it. Or, he had direct deposits set up to go straight to someone else. It seems like its time to declare bankruptcy if there is no legal recourse. Where is all my ****ing money!!! I am sure Clinton Portis can give him some advice on what to do. Or not do. The $100M made is likely less than $40M in his pocket due to taxes and agent fees alone. I get it's still a big piece of change. But he never saw anywhere near $100M. The article says he trusted the wrong people. That's all it takes. You believe someone who does not have your best interest at heart. I get he did this to himself but I still feel for him. RandyHolt
For all our laws, I feel like there are not enough protections in place to prevent this sort of thing. Our life savings can get wiped out in one trip to the hospital, via a well crafted phishing email, or from one knock on the door. Seniors in particular are extremely vulnerable. A guy shows up at sweet trusting grandma's door and says he is from "the bank", as alzheimer's is maybe starting to set it... there are no protections. I have known seniors that got basically kidnapped for a brief period and forced to go to their bank and withdraw money with their arm behind their back. I am clearly in the wrong "profession". OK here goes nothing more than a godaddy account and $10 domain fee. Peregrine
Being 5 million in the hole is probably an amazing motivator to work hard and extend your career and keep earning paydays. From looking at a few of the details of this, it seems he was do in debt from a couple of other loans, he took out a 4 month 12% loan to pay them. Thats a 36% APR, and thats insane. Not sure how a professional athlete making millions couldnt find someone to give him a loan for better than a 36% annual interest rate.
