Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre’s legal deal with Jeffrey Epstein released

A near-dozen-year-old legal settlement between Virginia Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and convicted sex offender whom she accused of sexual abuse, was released on Monday. Giuffre received $500,000 in her lawsuit against Epstein, court papers revealed.

The unsealing stemmed from Giuffre’s sexual abuse lawsuit against Prince Andrew, which she filed on 9 August in Manhattan federal court.

Giuffre has long accused Epstein and his sometime girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell – now a convicted sex trafficker, after the conclusion of her New York trial last week – of forcing her into sex with the royal when she was 17.

He vehemently maintains his innocence.

Andrew filed Giuffre’s settlement with Epstein as part of his attempt to dismiss her case, arguing that it shields him. Lawyers for the prince contend the settlement contains provisions that bar Giuffre from taking legal action against many of Epstein’s associates.

The unsealed settlement states that upon receipt of the stipulated sum, Giuffre, referred to under her maiden name, agrees to “remise, release, acquit, satisfy and forever discharge the said second parties and any other person or entity who could have been included as a potential defendant … from all, and all manner of, action and actions of Virginia Roberts, including state or federal, cause and causes of action”.

Andrew is not mentioned in the released settlement. Nor is the lawyer Alan Dershowitz, who Giuffre has accused of sexual misconduct facilitated by Epstein, which he has repeatedly denied.

Prince Andrew to sell £17m Swiss chalet with Queen NOT paying costs of sex abuse case

With legal bills mounting over his legal battle with Virginia Giuffre, Prince Andrew is in a race against time to raise funds to pay them.

And the Duke is now trying to force through the sale of his £17million Swiss chalet, as it emerged the Queen will not pay his spiralling costs.

Andrew could find out on Friday whether he will face a full civil trial in New York over allegations he sexually abused Ms Giuffre in 2001 on three occasions when she was just 17, claims he denies.

If it gets the go-ahead and he loses, his accuser could also be awarded a settlement which legal experts predict could be as much as £3million.

Looks like Prince Andrew has lost everything but his princely title. QE2 took his military titles and royal patronages, he's a private citizen.

Queen Elizabeth II has removed all of Prince Andrew’s military titles and royal patronages days after it emerged that her son will face a civil trial in New York after his motion to dismiss Virginia Giuffre’s sexual assault case was thrown out by a judge.

A statement from Buckingham Palace, released Thursday evening U.K. time, reads: “With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”

Who’s Sweating Now? Ghislaine Maxwell Ends Fight to Keep John Doe Names Sealed

A whole lot of John Does are likely more nervous this morning.

At issue? Virginia Giuffre’s request to unseal documents that name names in her since-settled civil lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, which led to a lengthy and ongoing open-records battle.

In December of last year, a Manhattan jury in Maxwell’s trial returned guilty verdicts in five of the six charges against her after six days of deliberations. Maxwell faced federal charges that included conspiracy, violations of the Mann Act, and sex trafficking a minor for her role as Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime confidante and now-convicted accomplice, related to what prosecutors described as Epstein’s “Pyramid scheme” of sexual abuse of minor girls.

Depending on what lies underneath the redactions, the unsealed information could make waves inside the same courthouse, and around the world.

Giuffre, one of Epstein’s many alleged victims, filed a federal lawsuit in New York in August of last year accusing Britain’s Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her on multiple occasions when she was 17 years old. Her lawsuit against Alan Dershowitz—and his countersuit against her—are also playing out in the Southern District of New York.

In a legal brief filed on Wednesday, Giuffre requested that the judge unseal the names of the John Does currently kept out of the public eye, in part due to their complaints of how disruptive the media attention would be to their lives.

Jeffrey Epstein brought EIGHT young women with him on his trips to see Bill Clinton at the White House: Displayed  photos of himself posing at the Briefing Room podium at his Palm Beach mansion

Jeffrey Epstein paid more than a dozen visits to the Clinton White House throughout the former president's first few years in office - even bringing along with him multiple women, including four known to be his girlfriends, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Unearthed visitor logs last month confirmed the late pedophile had visited the Executive Mansion at least 17 times during Bill Clinton's first term, beginning shortly after his inauguration in 1993.

Additional records exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com now reveal that Epstein was not always alone during his trips to the White House, where he was joined by eight different women between 1993 and 1995.

Never-before-seen footage also shows the disgraced financier - who on three occasions visited the president's house twice in one day - kept framed pictures of himself at the podium of the White House Briefing Room at his Palm Beach mansion.

The nature of Epstein's accompanied visits is not disclosed in the visitor logs, however, they show one of them coincided with a dinner in the Blue Room attended by dozens of well-heeled guests.

Ghislaine Maxwell requests new sex abuse trial amid concerns over juror's revelation

Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyers filed a formal request for a retrial Wednesday after they raised concerns about a juror's possible failure to disclose that he was sexually abused as a child.

Maxwell, 60, a British socialite, was convicted late last year for her role in recruiting and grooming teenage girls to be sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein. She faces up to 65 years behind bars if the conviction on five counts of sex trafficking and other crimes is allowed to stand.

In a letter to U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan late Wednesday, Maxwell’s defense lawyer Bobbi Sternheim said counsel had “filed her motion for a new trial.”

The letter did not directly attribute the request to concerns over the juror's revelations. However, Sternheim requested that all submissions pertaining to “Juror No. 50” remain under seal until the court has ruled on the motion. Sternheim did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Prince Andrew raises ‘consent’ as defence in Giuffre abuse trial filing

Prince Andrew raised consent and “unclean hands” as defences against Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit claiming he sexually abused her when she was a teenager.

In the formal answer he filed on Thursday AEDT to Giuffre’s suit in Manhattan federal court, the British royal said her claims were barred by her own wrongful actions. He didn’t specify the conduct to which he was referring.

It also wasn’t clear from the filing what Andrew meant by consent. He denies having sex with Giuffre, who claims he was one of several men to whom Jeffrey Epstein “lent” her for sexual abuse.

“Assuming, without admitting, that Giuffre has suffered any injury or damage alleged in the complaint, Giuffre’s claims are barred by the doctrine of consent,” Andrew said in Wednesday’s filing.

He asked that the case be decided by a jury.

Andrew had hoped to avoid filing an answer to Giuffre claims by asking US District Judge Lewis Kaplan to dismiss the suit outright on the grounds that it was barred by a 2009 settlement she signed with Jeffrey Epstein in 2009. He also argued Giuffre’s permanent residency in Australia bars her from suing him.

The judge denied his motion to dismiss, saying it was too early in the case to interpret the settlement agreement.

In Wednesday’s filing, Andrew admitted he met Epstein in 1999 but denied “that he was a co-conspirator of Epstein or that Epstein trafficked girls to him”.

Ghislaine Maxwell sentenced to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking minor girls for Jeffrey Epstein

Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison Tuesday for carrying out a years-long scheme with her longtime confidante Jeffrey Epstein to groom and sexually abuse underage girls.

Maxwell, 60, did not testify in her defense during the trial late last year, which ended with her conviction on five counts, including sex trafficking of a minor. But on Tuesday she spoke in court to the victims shortly before the sentence was handed down.

"Jeffrey Epstein should have been here before all of you," Maxwell said at the podium, her legs shackled. "It is not about Epstein, ultimately. It is for me to be sentenced."

Maxwell, Epstein's former girlfriend, acknowledged that she had been convicted in the sex trafficking scheme but stopped short of taking responsibility.

"I am sorry for the pain that you've experienced," Maxwell said. "I hope my conviction ... brings you closure."

Victoria’s Secret boss was ‘pimple on New York’s backside’ until Jeffrey Epstein: new doc

It was a match made in heaven, or maybe in hell: the sexual deviant and the lingerie demigod.

For decades, disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein was one of the closest friends of Victoria’s Secret billionaire Les Wexner, 84. In fact, the late con, who, in August 2019 at 66, committed suicide in the jail cell of a Manhattan federal detention center while awaiting trial in his sex-trafficking case, once joked that he and the retail baron “share a brain.” (It should be noted that Wexner has claimed complete ignorance of Epstein’s sexual misdeeds.)

But in the forthcoming Hulu docuseries “Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons,” out Thursday, associates of the unlikely duo — Wexner, a self-made magnate from the Midwest, and Epstein, a college dropout who smooth-talked his way into roles in New York’s financial district — say the two were bound by more than ambition.

They each needed the other in order to survive.

“Wexner had the money that Epstein was seeking, and Wexner got from Epstein the glamour and smoothness that he was seeking,” says Cindy Fedus-Fields, the former CEO of Victoria’s Secret Direct, in the three-part saga directed and produced by Matt Tyrnauer of “The Reagans” and “Studio 54” fame.

18 minutes ago, Spaceman Spiff said:

I have no problem with any names being released at all.

Oh, release everything?  I'm cool with that.

And yeah, there might be cases where they need to make an exception for one or two special cases.

Although I also don't want to see Celebrity X get smeared, simply because he attended a few parties at the place.

Epstein's Private Calendar Reveals Prominent Names, Including CIA Chief, Goldman's Top Lawyer

he nation’s spy chief, a longtime college president and top women in finance. The circle of people who associated with Jeffrey Epstein years after he was a convicted sex offender is wider than previously reported, according to a trove of documents that include his schedules.

William Burns, director of the Central Intelligence Agency since 2021, had three meetings scheduled with Epstein in 2014, when he was deputy secretary of state, the documents show. They first met in Washington and then Mr. Burns visited Epstein’s townhouse in Manhattan.

Kathryn Ruemmler, a White House counsel under President Barack Obama, had dozens of meetings with Epstein in the years after her White House service and before she became a top lawyer at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in 2020. He also planned for her to join a 2015 trip to Paris and a 2017 visit to Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean.

Leon Botstein, the president of Bard College, invited Epstein, who brought a group of young female guests, to the campus. Noam Chomsky, a professor, author and political activist, was scheduled to fly with Epstein to have dinner at Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse in 2015.

None of their names appear in Epstein’s now-public “black book” of contacts or in the public flight logs of passengers who traveled on his private jet. The documents show that Epstein arranged multiple meetings with each of them after he had served jail time in 2008 for a sex crime involving a teenage girl and was registered as a sex offender. The documents, which include thousands of pages of emails and schedules from 2013 to 2017, haven’t been previously reported.
