"I mean, the opportunity has been there for five, six years now," Rendon noted. "And, still open to it, still all ears, but the closer we get to that opportunity, it makes more sense as a player to think about my family and all these other variables that come into play. Why not look forward to it?" "Is there even a number they can come to you with where you would agree?" Paulsen asked. "It takes two to dance right now." "Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. I think there is a number," said Rendon. "And we've discussed that, and there's also some contingencies into the contract that need to happen. And they know what that is, and we've expressed our concerns on what those things are, and if they can make that happen, then I think they'll be good to go."

Bacon
I'll wear my Rendon jersey proudly long after we refuse to extend him because we're cheap. What a solid dude. Edited July 30, 2019 by Bacon
TheGoodBits
I think it’s going to take $200-220m to get it done. 7-8 years at $28m/yr, somewhere between in that range. I’d be shocked if it was significantly less than $200m, not shocked if it was as high as $240m.

Half of Freeman's numbers goes to his good hitting ability. The other half is our sheer stupidity continuing to pitch to him... I mean how many times can you poke the bear still be surprised when he mauls you. Edited July 31, 2019 by CRobi21

StillUnknown
kinda disappointing that Fedde is shaping up to not even be a back of the rotation type we gotta hit on one of these 1st round injury reclamation projects

Riggo#44
Love the near comeback last night. Would have been epic to win that, and we did it against their best relievers. We weren't sharp early, but man, those last two innings were awesome

StillUnknown
If it comes to it, who are you more willing to part with: Kieboom or Garcia? More of a hypothetical because i'm anticipating conservative moves that leave me disappointed but wont require either of those two

Projects to be a decent hitter but I don't think he'll ever be a power guy. He's also only 19, and a lot can go wrong in his development. Kieboom is a much more advanced prospect at this point with a ton of pop, and has demonstrated success at AAA already at age 21.

Ha that's what I was thinking. Picturing some crazy stance like Kimbrel with him really animated. I hope that happens one day. Just not this year.
