@DCGoldPants
Like a trainwreck in slow motion. Twice in one game you saw the manager make the same mistake and knew how it would go.  They won't. But he should be relieved of his role tonight. Would even need to explain why. Just isn't working.
volsmet
Wonder if they could trade Eaton for Giolito, Lopez & Dunning. 3 minutes ago, @SkinsGoldPants said: Like a trainwreck in slow motion. StillUnknown
as about a must win game as you can have this early into the season  best reliever doesn't pitch because you go with Kyle Barraclaugh?   If you are Anthony Rendon, why would you re-sign here? bearrock
At this rate Rizzo is going to get fired with Martinez. You can't hope to just ride out the next 100+ games with an incompetent manager. If nothing else, fire him so that Martinez doesn't do some irrevocable damage to the young core on this team. skinswillwin06
Replace him with who though? Knorr? And after this, if they do fire him, what manager is going to come here with the Nats' track record on managers? Â For the record, I want him gone too, but I am not sure what Rizzo can do here. bearrock
They'll probably have to go with Bo Porter or Randy Knorr as caretaker for rest of the season (unless we have another Davey Johnson like figure in the organization. McKeon maybe? lol).

Popeman38
So Davey has a rookie, making his second appearance of the season, throw 33 freaking pitches in the 2nd of back to back appearances? Doolittle is rested and available and you hang the season on a rookie working his 2nd inning in the 2nd of back to back appearances? Do you need any more reason to ****ing fire this clown? Oh wait, Wander Suero is asked to pitch 2 innings. Wander Suero isn't the RP to trot out for 2 innings. StillUnknown
They better get one hell of a haul for Rendon when the time comes. Rebuilds are painful, but that package should jumpstart the effort. With Soto, Robles, Kieboom, we are ahead of most rebuilding teams. Turner is not even 26--which seems crazy. Doolittle should also fetch some good young kids. This team just seems complacent... Â Agreed. Your BP can be massively underperforming AND the manager can seemingly make all the wrong moves to make it worse. That's what's happening here. You have to know the ceiling on the # of pitches a reliever should max out at. It's why they have a clicker to keep count. Twice he blew it in one game.

Popeman38
We saw 2 years ago, a bullpen is good when the RP have defined roles. Kintzler-Madson-Doolittle were good in the 7-8-9 role. Madson WAS NOT good in the 9th role. Doolittle WAS NOT good in the 8th role. Kintzler WAS NOT good in the 8th or 9th role. Having Suero pitch in the 6th one night, the 6th & 7th the next night, the 8th in his next appearance, the 5th in the one after that never lets a guy get comfortable with his role. There are position players that play best when they play the same position everyday. Move them to a different position, and they think and then go into a funk. Same applies to RP, they want a defined role (obvious that days off alter roles slightly).
Barry.Randolphe
I'm all for a 2-3 year period of sucking to retake the division on a consistent basis - I don't think it'll take that long to be honest since we have enough young talent to keep us from being too ****ty.
