I say punt him as soon as Cavalli and Henry are ready and need MLB innings. Thanks for 2019, here's your parting gift.

@DCGoldPants
Whatever happens with ownership needs to happen first. New owners might decide that its worth investing more into things like training/health/coaching and see if they bring in outside help to work with him. I don't know. Considering how much one guy can make. They could spend millions more on these other things to support the expensive player.

The problem is he has that meltdown inning--last night he gave up 2 homers, a double and a walk. Fortunately it was only 3 runs, but a better team, it's worse. Does that happen out of the pen? If so, it's probably worse.

CRobi21
You could see it in his demeanor in first start against the Braves. Confidence and determination pouring through, even though that first start didn't go as well. That mindset didn't waiver at all.

We haven't been facing the '27 Yankees, but still, those are great numbers against anyone. Josiah Gray has been killing it over his last 5 starts: 1.24 ERA, .493 OPS against, 9.6 K/9. Most importantly, he's given up just 3 HR over his last 29 IP.
