BitCoin falling like a Dotcom

If ETH goes below $3,000 I'm getting back in.  It's at $3,299.12 currently.

Looks like I should have gotten on it, cuz now it is up to $3,550.  What crazy swings, plus it never stops cuz the "market" is always open.

the market is always open is a tough aspect to this investing.

Gas fees also go crazy with eth. Hopping in and out with the swings isn’t necessarily a great move. Just depends on the gas fees.

and those fees were super high for a solid week. So I wouldn’t be surprised if part of the increased volatility was due to people just waiting for the fees to go down to make moves.

id love to buy the dip on it but I’m sorta maxed out on money I want to put into crypto 😂

Short-term speculation, not investing.

It's gambling, really. I'd be very interested in a study being done that attempts to look at any connections between a rise in this activity and casinos being closed during the pandemic.

While casinos were closed, online gambling has risen.  At least with sports gambling with DK, FD, etc. So while the brick and mortar places went into hiatus, more than crypto speculation filled the void.

My portfolio has dropped 21% in the last 4 days. I hate Elon Musk. No one should hold that much influence on any market, let alone one as greedy and eccentric as him.

One is currently not permitted to buy or sell on ripple on Coinbase. Only hold whatever you have.

Go to Crypto.com

Elon only has that much power because his fanboys give him that power.

I mean all Crypto have unfortunately been dictated by guerilla movements, but what he's done with Doge and Bit is atrocious. How he's not investigated for his actions over the last couple of months, especially with BTC is mindboggling. I know people on the exchange that got a lifetime ban for pumping and dumping without having anything remotely close to the level of power he has.

Completely agree about market manipulation. It's absurd.

HE can literally stock up on anything; Safemoon, Tron, Iota... put out a couple of tweets, wait a week and sell it all at double the price citing environmental concerns etc etc leaving all his followers scrambling to break even. It's like a Cult.

Yup gotta figure out how to ride the musk waves

Well, I bought the first dip after he announced Tesla would no longer be accepting, but then the second crash happened after it was reported he sold the remainder of his holdings. Those transaction fees almost don't make it worth it unless you're 100% confident the slide will continue and then you have to figure if the slide and dip rebuy offsets the fees.

I bought back into MATIC/Polygon and I think I'm going to stay in that for awhile. Also into ETC but I'll continue to look for small gains there and  play off the potential pattern of volatility between $80s and $115.

Etc and Cardano were the ones that I can proudly say I maximized as best as possible. I got in at 28 and sold at 149. Kept about 5 (out of 45). Just on a whim too.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing to invest right now. It may go lower but at some point it will go back up. It depends on how greedy you want to be.

Also depends on what your time allocation allows.... it’s a 24/7 market and you can spend all day watching for the right spot.

I try to avoid making moves during extreme daily volatility and try to make moves during calmer times. Mostly because if I do it the other way, no matter how happy I am with a move it looks like garbage in 2 hours and then it consumes my time.

rather just try to make good decisions about individual tokens and just keep an eye on the bigger strategy

which is to plan on existing in September

which is based on nothing of substance

😂

It’s a longer-term expectation. Things are low now but I expect they’ll steadily climb back to and exceed what it was In a few weeks. That’s the way the last few crashes have been. Mind you, the others were mostly caused by mass sell-offs and not anything substantial (like idiot Elon manipulating its use).

How do you guys buy crypto?  Dogecoin or Ethereum?  Can you use a brokerage?

I am a pure amateur, so someone else could probably guide you better, but as far as I know there are only several sites where you can buy cryptocurrency.  I use Coinbase.  I have seen advertisement for eToro, that seems like a popular one too.

I have seen all the chatter about Dogecoin but have not invested.  I just checked the price - .41.  Am I looking at the wrong one or something?  All that hype for a crypto that is worth 41 cents?  Seems like the all time high is 70 cents.  I must be missing something.
