At this point I am fairly convinced that there is likely a case being built against the Trump campaign for conspiracy to defraud the US government. Potential for something even more as well.

I don’t think Mueller offers Gates a deal in exchange for testifying against Manafort alone. The evidence against Manafort is just as strong as the evidence against Gates on the current charges. Gates has to have the goods on others that have no been indicted yet. Trump kids, Pence, maybe Trump himself.
