KDawg
This isn't a very large undertaking to say the least, but this should be your companion guide to the FA and Draft threads. Many people don't seem to be aware what our roster looks like by asking if so and so is still on the roster or not. So I'm going to go ahead and post our roster here and try to do my best in updating this bad boy. Please Note: I'm listing players in the positions that they are listed on the Redskins official roster. Don't kill the messenger. Also of note: They group guys in very strange ways.TEAM (66)DEFENSE (31)SECONDARY (12):Cornerback (6):39 David Amerson23 DeAngelo Hall22 Tracy Porter30 EJ Biggers 38 Chase Minnifield 26R Bashaud Breeland *ROOKIE* Safety (6): 31 Brandon Meriweather25R Ryan Clark 24 Bacarri Rambo41 Phillip Thomas 35 Akeem Davis 34 Trenton Robinson DEFENSIVE LINE (8): Defensive End (5):72 Stephen Bowen64 Kedric Golston97 Jason Hatcher99 Jarvis Jenkins 94 Clifton Geathers Nose Tackle (3): 92 Chris Baker96 Barry Cofield95 Chris Neild LINEBACKERS (11):Inside Linebacker (6):46R Will Compton53 Darryl Sharpton 52 Keenan Robinson 56 Perry Riley 55 Adam Hayward54 Akeem Jordan Outsider Linebacker (5):91 Ryan Kerrigan45 Gabe Miller98 Brian Orakpo 93 Trent Murphy *ROOKIE* 51 Everette Brown OFFENSE (31)OFFENSIVE LINE (10):Guard/Center (1):78 Kory Lichtensteiger Guard (5):66 Chris Chester79 Maurice Hurt77 Shawn Lauvao67 Josh LeRibeu 60 Spencer Long *ROOKIE*Tackle (4):71 Trent Williams74 Tyler Polumbus68 Tom Compton76 Morgan Moses *ROOKIE* RUNNING BACKS (7):Fullback (1):36 Darrel Young Running Back (6):29 Roy Helu Jr46 Alfred Morris26W Evan Royster25W Chris Thompson 35W Lache Seastrunk *ROOKIE* 24W Silas Redd *ROOKIE UDFA*QUARTERBACKS (3):Quarterback (3):10 Robert Griffin III8 Kirk Cousins16 Colt McCoy WIDE RECEIVERS (8): 88 Pierre Garcon85 Leonard Hankerson89 Santana Moss12 Andre Roberts13 Nick Williams15 Aldrick Robinson11 Desean Jackson 14 Ryan Grant *ROOKIE* TIGHT ENDS (3):Tight End (3):84 Niles Paul82 Logan Paulsen 86 Jordan Reed SPECIAL TEAMS (4):Kicker (2):2 Kai Forbath 4 Zach Hocker *ROOKIE*Punter (1):5 Tress Way Long Snapper (1):57 Nick Sundberg BLUE NAME = RESTRICTED FREE AGENTORANGE NAME = DRAFTED ROOKIE WHATEVER COLOR THIS ACTUALLY IS = UNDRAFTED FA INJURED RESERVE: WR JERRY RICE, JR TE MATT CAUSSIN CB COURTNEY BRIDGET, JR. The Rook
Thanks for putting it together. Easy to see that the team IS very "thin" at the safety positions. The Rook
KDawg
Thanks for putting it together. Easy to see that the team IS very "thin" at the safety positions. The Rook I wish I understood the logic of how the team (read: web page people) groups guys. Gumbs is listed as a DB. As is Trenton Robinson. Mouton and Minnifield are as well. But Crawford is listed as a CB (which is the position he plays. But so does Minnifield...) *shrug*
Audible_Red40
Not only that but to have Brandon Jenkins as the only "listed" OLB on the roster is a bit funny. Weird ways for listing players for sure. But thanks for this KDawg.

JamesMadisonSkins
If I had to parse this down, I would say there are currently 50 "solid" 53-man roster spots taken up. But that is certainly flexible, as there is room to add more guys through the draft/FA. I include someone like Santana in that group even though he could easily be a cut-down guy in camp ... same with Geathers and Worthington. I also find it interested Merriweather is listed as a FS when we all thought he was brought back to play SS? Maybe the staff is targeting a Meriweather/Thomas starting combo at safety? Rambo/Gumbs + Draft Pick as backups. The way I see it, we need to add a CB, OT/OG, FS, TE and WR to solidify our opening day roster. I can't imagine Chester/Golston will stick around either. KDawg
Thanks Coach. I know your times valuable. Appreciated. Hail. Not really! hahaha! Forehead
Good catch. He's there. Eyes must have let me miss him. Thanks for the help. Edited. BUT YOU DIDN'T UPDATE THE NUMBER OF RECEIVERS TO 8+1!!! On another note, can anyone tell me if Kevin Kowalski's nickname is "Killer?" Because if so, I demand he be on the final roster.

Forehead
I live to needle. Seriously though, good thread idea. Some of our positions are a nuclear wasteland of missing talent. Be interesting to see what develops over the next few months.
Jumbo
As always, great job dawg. Do you ever wonder if there must be some profit in deliberately fielding a consistently failing franchise? It would explain so much.

Be interesting to see what develops over the next few months. I still wish I had any semblance of a clue as to why the team lists some of the guys as they do. Even with tackles (which I changed due to principle)... Polumbus and Williams were listed as "T" and Compton as "OT". What the heck? Why?
The Rook
A "consistently failing franchise" can certainly be profitable. The Cubs come to mind. The Rook
TSO
I still wish I had any semblance of a clue as to why the team lists some of the guys as they do. Even with tackles (which I changed due to principle)... Polumbus and Williams were listed as "T" and Compton as "OT". What the heck? Why? I think (maybe) one of the criterion being used by the team is based on what they can play. So, for Linebackers, Will Compton and Darryl Sharpton can ONLY play Inside Linebacker and Brandon Jenkins can ONLY play Outside, whereas the rest of them may line up at either spot depending on the formation? I don't know, that's my stab at it, lol. The way the Oline is listed also gives it a little credence, Lichtensteiger is listed as "Guard/Center" and the rest of the guys have their specific orientation. The only one that confuses me is "DB". You'd think the guys that can move between CB and Safety depending on formation would be there, but I don't see Chase Minnifield ever lining up as a Safety or Gumbs lining up at CB. AlvinWaltonIsMyBoy
As always, great job dawg. Do you ever wonder if there must be some profit in deliberately fielding a consistently failing franchise? It would explain so much. The Redskins...NFL's version of The Producers. I'm most interested in what we're gonna do at FS. I'd also be interested to know what they think they can get out of TJackson. They must be pretty high on his ability to come back and play. I still think Clark signs with us when the dust settles, and we put BMeriweather in the box. If we draft an ILB, there will be some stout competition there. Thanks KDawg. Gallen5862
www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/8748/brandon-mooreRedskins claimed DL Brandon Moore off waivers from the Chiefs.Moore, 23, went undrafted out of Texas last year after leaving the Longhorns a year early. He spent 2013 on Kansas City's practice squad. At 6-foot-5, 317, Moore projects as a defensive end prospect in the Redskins' 3-4. KDawg
I'm only going to add guys to this roster once redskins.com adds them. DC9 is all over the new acquisitions and doing an excellent job. This isn't a breaking news type a thread, it's more of a reference list. This is also probably a better place to have conversations about #1 receivers and franchise OLBs than the FA thread as well I don't see Jerome Murphy listed. Was he cut? He's on the Broncos roster.
