Bostic Hog
Possibly take a little of the media off Penn State, but I didn't hear about this until now: Syracuse police say they are investigating an allegation that Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine molested a team ball boy for more than a dozen years beginning in the mid-1980s. Larry
The linked article includes a press release by Syracuse, which includes the paragraph: (My emphasis.) "On hearing of the allegations in 2005, the University immediately launched its own comprehensive investigation through its legal counsel. That nearly four-month long investigation included a number of interviews with people the complainant said would support his claims. All of those identified by the complainant denied any knowledge of wrongful conduct by the associate coach. The associate coach also vehemently denied the allegations. Larry
Yeah, it's certainly possible. Lack of corroborating witnesses certainly doesn't prove innocence. ---------- Post added November-17th-2011 at 08:11 PM ---------- WTF is wrong with these people? Coaches? NoVaSkins21
Seriously, there are just sickos out there all over the place. The only thing that matters now in college athletics is winning. Everything else is below that. Just getting worse and worse by the day.
thebluefood
From what I understand, there was already an investigation, but nothing came of it. Did they find something new?

Yeah, something doesn't seem quite right about this whole thing. If this molestation went on for 12 years, and it started when he was in middle school, this guy was well into his twenties when it finally ended. Something's fishy here... ixcuincle
ESPN 1) doesn't give credit when other journalistic networks break a story 2) is often guilty of fabricating or overhyping stories to the point of annoyance Disregard ESPN
thebluefood
>espn>credibility Pick one. I wouldn't have given this any credence, but I saw this story on another site. Then again, that site was Fox News so...
ixcuincle
http://twitter.com/PeteThamelNYT/statuses/137379368006729728 Boeheim comes out just as strong to ESPN. On the alleged victim's claims: "He is lying." es.pn/vADUgQ
thebluefood
And let's remember Penn State came right out and tried to make things right as soon as the Sandusky thing came to light. 'Cuse, and Boeheim, seems to be vehemently denying everything.

If this molestation went on for 12 years, and it started when he was in middle school, this guy was well into his twenties when it finally ended. Something's fishy here... From my vast knowledge on the subject (Mom likes Law & Order), it's not impossible for someone whose been abused, to be so cowed as to still tolerate it that long. (Even to convince himself that he enjoys it). As to other factors that people have sked about . . . If you read the OP (hint) it supposedly started at (going from memory) age 12, continuing to like 25. Syracuse supposedly investigated, and the witnesses who the accuser said would back him up, didn't. ESPN was told about the story, but didn't run it, because it was a single accuser, claiming something decades old, with no other support. But then a second accuser came forward, claiming that he Sandusky case inspired fim to come forward.
