Possibly take a little of the media off Penn State, but I didn't hear about this until now:

Syracuse police say they are investigating an allegation that Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine molested a team ball boy for more than a dozen years beginning in the mid-1980s.

Full Story: http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/7248184/syracuse-police-investigating-bernie-fine-molesting-boy-1980s

The linked article includes a press release by Syracuse, which includes the paragraph: (My emphasis.)

"On hearing of the allegations in 2005, the University immediately launched its own comprehensive investigation through its legal counsel. That nearly four-month long investigation included a number of interviews with people the complainant said would support his claims. All of those identified by the complainant denied any knowledge of wrongful conduct by the associate coach. The associate coach also vehemently denied the allegations.

Yeah, it's certainly possible.

Lack of corroborating witnesses certainly doesn't prove innocence.

WTF is wrong with these people?

Coaches? Or people who like to have sex with little kids?

If ESPN is wrong on this, their credibility will take a MASSIVE hit.

Yeah, something doesn't seem quite right about this whole thing. If this molestation went on for 12 years, and it started when he was in middle school, this guy was well into his twenties when it finally ended.

Something's fishy here...

From my vast knowledge on the subject (Mom likes Law & Order), it's not impossible for someone whose been abused, to be so cowed as to still tolerate it that long. (Even to convince himself that he enjoys it).

As to other factors that people have sked about . . .

If you read the OP (hint) it supposedly started at (going from memory) age 12, continuing to like 25.

Syracuse supposedly investigated, and the witnesses who the accuser said would back him up, didn't.

ESPN was told about the story, but didn't run it, because it was a single accuser, claiming something decades old, with no other support.

But then a second accuser came forward, claiming that he Sandusky case inspired fim to come forward.
